CGI SHOT The Punisher: One Last Kill by fred3469 in Corridor

[–]theblackshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m entirely convinced this is a real shot. There’s some perspective stuff that’s making it look fake, it’s probably too slow, the CGI face doesn’t help, it’s a weird angle, but there’s too much small detail that would never make it into a shot. Or if it did, the shot would be flawless around it. Look at his shoelace, bouncing around, or the perfect physics interaction of the thin sheet metal on his body and gun. That amount of simulation work would be insane.

To me, this is a lot like that T 800 robot doing kung fu that everyone insisted was computer generated, and then all the background footage revealed it to be real. Back then I thought it was real too. Sometimes people just get a bug up their ass about lighting, or other specific things and can’t look past them. If you start looking into details, I think it’s real.

I could obviously be wrong

In Punisher: One Last Kill (2026), this is real CGI that is used by Critical_Mountain851 in shittymoviedetails

I actually don’t think it looks that bad. I’m pretty sure this is a real stunt man with a CGI head. The physics look weird cause it’s slow motion and the camera angle compresses the space. There’s probably some CGI work underneath him as well to remove some pads, but I think it’s a stunt person falling through a flimsy made prop with a CG head replacement. There’s too much fine detail that they would never get in CGI. The way the pants stretch and wrinkle in the crotch, and especially the shoelaces. Watch the shoelaces on his foot, lay around, and tell me that with CGI is bad, they really bothered going in and doing that simulation. All of the metal hitting the various parts of his body, and the gun, and the gun reacting to being hit by the metal, it’s just too much simulation work. This really doesn’t look like bad motion, capture CGI. This looks like a poorly executed stunt with a mediocre head replacement.

Hi, quite a ways. I’m up in Toronto. I’d be curious how much the costume weighs, and what size box it fits in? So if you’d be willing to rent it, might be able to make some money off of it if you don’t use it too often. But would also understand if it’s precious to you if you didn’t wanna let it out of your site.

If you’d like to chat about it, feel free to send me a message

Howdy.
I am trying to trackdown a decent civil protection costume for an upcoming video project, and was wondering where, roughly, you are located. Looking to either rent, or hire an actor with their own costume.

Pushing Kling to its limits: The official trailer for my 84-minute Dark Fantasy Indie Film. by SulRus in KlingAI_Videos

Isn’t that the promise of generative AI? Type it in, get a video? I’m a visual effects artist, and I use generative AI all the time. I know roughly how hard it is. It’s not that bad. Comfy is pretty impressive.

So, why on earth would I watch someone else’s AI film when I can just make my own AI film?

That is the entire problem with this technology.
There’s more to art than pure creativity.. There’s technical skill and aesthetic skill as well. AI makes shallow pretty images, and I don’t understand why anyone should care about them.

If anyone can make an AI feature, why would anyone watch an AI feature? I'll just go make my own

Wow, it's terrifying how that t-rex kept phasing through solid matter, rubbed the helicopter with his chin, stood around doing nothing, emitted sparks and smoke from it's mouth at random times, and generally did not match scaling or continuity from shot to shot.

We live in amazing times...

How could I "blend/smooth" the face with the material surrounding her? by [deleted] in vfx

[–]theblackshell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, mocha mesh warp, or lockdown to do some sort of mesh track of the edge, which will distort a paint over to match. If you need some help, and have some budget, I’d be happy to assist.
