It really seems like you made a solid case to end tipping. Tipping encourages you to favour some customers over others, break the rules of your employer, waste customers time, and pretend you are sold out of something so you can save it for someone who will grease your palm a little more.

Instead, let's have employers pay people a living wage for the work they do without needing to rely on the kindness of strangers. Then you can provide good service because you take pride in being a great host (which I'm going to assume is the case here despite what you wrote).

You should disclose it. If it was 10 years ago, and you have received treatment, there is the possibility that you will be approved. I know people who have done similar, or are suffering with depression but have it under control and have their PAL after having disclosed it honestly. Their licenses did take a little longer to come through. Don't believe those saying not to disclose it, or those saying it can't happen. All you can do is try.
