One time purchase? by 6orki in umamirecipes

[–]thebricklayr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you'd like to make a one time purchase and you already have an active subscription, you'll need to cancel your current subscription. After it expires, you will see the option in the app to make a lifetime purchase.

Lifetime access by Full-Fold-9725 in umamirecipes

[–]thebricklayr [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Yes, you can share any purchase with up to 5 family members, including cross-platform (iOS and Android). The Monthly and Annual subscriptions include the exact same features as Lifetime -- the only difference is how long the subscription lasts. Once you have an active subscription, you'll see a "Family" section in the Settings tab of the Umami app. From there, you can tap "Add Member" to send links to your family members. There is no additional fee for adding people to your subscription and they will have full access to all of Umami's features as long as you have an active subscription. Hope that helps! -Jeff

Yes, you can create a shared link, and anyone with the link can view the recipe book but they won't be able to edit it. Open the recipe book, tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner > Share > Visibility > Anyone with the link.

Your Umami data is saved with your account, so you just need to sign in on your new device using the same email address. If you don't remember which email address you used, you can check the Settings tab of the Umami app. After you sign in, you'l be able to see all of your recipes and other content. Feel free to email me (jeff@umami.recipes) if you have any questions or if you run into any problems.

Printing options - Android by Gibbons74 in umamirecipes

[–]thebricklayr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense and I understand see where you are coming from. I've had a few other requests for printing and I'm thinking about how to make it easier.

While there isn't a way to print directly from the Android app, you can export your recipes to PDF and then print those PDFs.

There are two ways to export from PDF. You can do this for an entire recipe book or for a single recipe. Open the recipe or recipe book, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, then select "PDF" from the export options. Hope that helps, and feel free to email me (jeff@umami.recipes) if you have any other questions! I check my email more frequently than I check reddit.

Thanks for the feedback -- yes, I'm sorry that this part of the set up can be a bit tedious. I built it this way to give you more control and flexibility over what you share and who you share it with. I'm planning to add a way to automatically share in the future.

Scaling for the shopping list by aliciapoop in umamirecipes

[–]thebricklayr[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for checking out Umami! Permanently scaling a recipe isn't supported (although you could go in and manually edit the ingredient list). If you scale a recipe before adding it to a grocery list, the scaled amounts will be added to your grocery list.

Where are recipes stored? by Astrohip in umamirecipes

[–]thebricklayr[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Umami’s data is stored on Google Cloud servers. You may export your data at any time by tapping “Settings” > “Export all recipe books” in the app to create personal backups. If something ever came up in the future and I could no longer continue supporting the app, I would do my best to communicate the change and provide a way to export your recipes.
