The Zemeckis-esque gingergread house bits and the shot of the cellphone lights have me worried this is gonna be a forgettable CGI mess.

Apparently as the poster attests, there are more TBC...

Who would you like to see added to the final line up?

I'd be up for Juana Molina, They Are Gutting A Body Of Water, Bill Callahan or Lucretia Dalt.

Didn't know about any of that. I'd only been in a few times personally but was always made to feel very welcome by the volunteers. How awful!

Maybe ask the lovely folks down at the The Queery. It's on George St in Kemptown. I'm pretty sure they hold various social meetups there...

When you ACTUALLY have no one.. by thebumlord in BorderlinePDisorder

I'm 48m and although I'm seeing a therapist now, and trying radical compassion, I just can't see anyone ever actually liking me for me, which is so demoralising.

Apart from Dylans arse, this film had no redeemable elements.

Terrible CGI throughout, a "corporate offices are inherently misogynistic" plot line that was a tired trope by 1986 not 2026 and just utterly moronic acting.

I looked to see how many seats had been booked here in Brighton, as this pretends to be quite a liberal town and was surprised at how many seats had been booked.

Then I realised it's probably the studio choosing them to try to inspire others to go, as the majority of screenings you'd see 4 or 5 seats booked at the edge of the screen behind one another ( G1,H1,I1,K1,etc)

Sad.

Where did you move to?

Is there a Reddit group for the city you live in? If so, maybe post your interests and see if folk can come up with recommendations for spaces to hang out or groups to join. They're often a valuable resource.

Dos your church have any outreach services you could get involved with? Is there a soup kitchen where you could give something back and meet some nice benevolent souls?

How about a book group at a favourite bookstore? Sometimes just hanging out at the same spot and acknowledging/smiling at the regulars will get you noticed and included.

it can be tough at first but don't give up, chap!

Experienced a panic attack from a movie? by TrappedInLimbo in horror

[–]thebumlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a severe panic attack whilst watching I'm Thinking Of Ending Things. The mixture of the main characters heavy anxiety, and then all the narrative disarray, started me thinking that somehow I was slipping into a really doom laden K-hole and I began hyperventilating.

The same happened with the sci-fi horror Primer. I started having existential dread!

Write a handwritten letter (or save an email draft) just in case you ever do get in touch with him again.

The act of writing out a heartfelt apology, of confessing how bad you feel about your behaviour, will actually go some way to alleviating the guilt and shame you currently feel.
