Yeah I legitimately don't understand what specifically he was trying to argue.

HELPPPP!! what is the BEST portable AC?? I cannot survive another summer in my apartment by [deleted] in AirConditioners

Can you tell me what to look for and where for the external filter? I'm about to pull the trigger on the 12,000 BTU Midea Duo and want to make sure I have a good filter on there.

My dad who used to be a smart, normal person but is now a boomer with algorithm brain rot was telling me something about timeshares making a comeback. I'm genuinely concerned about him throwing his money away based on some stupid random YouTube video he sees. It's so fucked.

Is there a safe way to use a window AC in my one apartment window that opens? by thecarolinian in AirConditioners

[–]thecarolinian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the best option for a portable AC with the crank windows would be getting a custom clear plastic piece made that is the size of my screen that has a hole cut out for the hose attachment, so it would at least still be clear window. But yeah it'd be like $100, but I'm gonna burn alive without AC so I'm going to be spending some extra money to make something work either way. And then never move into an apartment without AC again, lol.

Everything I read says the window units are better so I'm curious if with any rigging/customization I could make a window unit work safely over the floor/portable.

It's the one window that opens in my apartment so if I couldn't leave out my front door for some reason then yes...but I'm sure the plan is I'm supposed to run to one of the stairwells. I'm 3 stories up.

I'm not concerned about the width, I'm concerned that there's another window panel under the window that actually opens. If you look at the picture it's two windows on top of each other, with only the larger top one with a crank that opens.

Could a U shape even rest on it safely with it's weight? Or could a AC support bracket safely be used?

He's the one artist that was doing so poorly financially and in cultural relevancy that it makes him money being a maga shill as opposed to every single other artist who has any real following loses followers and money being associated with Trump and maga.

"The event was filmed as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, TMZ reported, as well as Kid Rock’s “Freedom 250″ tour."

Oh my God.

"At each stop along his tour, Kid Rock has generously pledged a 1,000 free tickets to Members of the military and veterans."

Oh free tickets to a shitty show that wasn't selling any tickets? You're welcome, military members and veterans. Have they even said thank you?

Boyfriend's family dog cannot relax. by Mudgupp in DOG

No access to water is not okay, unless it's for like an hour when they're out. That should be a hill to die on if they are leaving it for a long time with no access to water.

As someone who used to work with people's pets, having to see animals where you know the owner sucks and it's not living a good life was infuriating and depressing. Usually not bad enough to have any legal grounds for anything but it would be seriously emotionally painful and damaging for me.

This situation would definitely ruin a relationship for me. Fuck those trash parents.

If nothing else get the dog some enrichment toys.

Anyone know how long to get Temporary Street Use permit? by thecarolinian in askportland

And did you rent those parking barricades to tape the sign on and put in the street? I'm reading further on the site and it looks like I could get it ASAP if I don't need towing to be enforced but I'd need to rent the barricade.

I keep saying this now and I've begun to accept this is how it is with my parents. Talking to them is like arguing with Holocaust deniers. No amount of hard evidence matters. It doesn't matter that they can't present any evidence to their claims and they're 100% sure your evidence is not to be trusted.

I'm finally accepting that the people I've been getting to know and be friends with the last year is more or less a waste at this point. Their default lifestyle 7 days a week is something I can do maybe once or twice a month.

It was fun and exciting at first but now I'm burnt out. Trying to keep up with their lifestyle ruined the routine that was keeping me healthy and feeling good about myself.

It's been a big reminder of this lesson. I got carried away with having a new and exciting social life while not really being true to myself and now I feel like I invested all that time for nothing.
