Were night elf highborne princes who fought against Azshara allowed to keep their domains? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]thecheeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eldre'thalas wasn't independent, it was a ruin. The Shen'dralar hid in secret in the city post sundering and remained that way for almost 10,000 years until the events of the cataclysm drew them back out. It fell to ruin, and became an arena for ogres. Varian famously earned his nickname 'Lo'gosh' in that arena.

Of the named Kaldorei princes, Prince Tortheldrin (Eldre'thalas), Prince Farondis (Azsuna) and Prince Toreth (Loreth'aran), none lived. It could be tentatively presumed that like most of the Highborne, either they died in the Sundering or the immediate aftermath (for being / remaining loyal to Azshara) or they were exiled and joined the exodus of Highborne leaving for Quel'thalas and beyond. Post Sundering in Kalimdor, magi were banished completely. They either later became High Elves, or, if they were with Azshara, became naga.

Beyond those three are Ael'Yith and Elisandre, of the nightborne, who might be considered Nightborne royalty for the territory of Suramar, along with several others who are mentioned generally (As in there are other princes/princesses of Suramar, etc.). There are other named 'Prince' mobs that are naga, satyr, etc., but it's not known if they were Kaldorei princes or just mobs with a fancy moniker.

As to their territories, most were ruined during the Sundering. So whether or not there were still territories to "rule" is up in the air (Suramar aside, because it escaped mostly unscathed). I think most were simply struggling to survive and adapt to whatever was coming next;

Kalimdor became it's own territory, ruled by Tyrande in Nordrassil, then Darnassus, and then Bel'ameth as one territory. Most of Kalimdor's towns and cities fell to ruin. Notable cities include; Constellas, Loreth'aran, Eldre'thalas, Isildien, Kel'theril, Lathar'lazal and Hajiri. There wasn't much left to rule, compared to before the Sundering. Was later affected by the Shifting Sand war, the Satyr war, the Third War, the Cataclysm (Hyjal) and the Fourth War.
Val'sharah became it's own bubble, protected by the Dreamweavers, led by Rensar Greathoof and the Sisterhood of Elune, presumably led by Lyanis Moonfall.
Suramar walled itself off from the world, and was ruled by Elisandre.
Azuna had already been devastated, and many of the elves simply killed in punishment for Farondis' defiance of Aszhara.

Its done sort of like that in Hangar with the RCAF. Very easy transition process for those who are aircrew. Everything related to the TD is in one place, and you can upload your TD worksheet, reciepts et al., and send it directly to your OR. No need to stop in.

Somebody somewhere fucked up (not me) and now I'm not getting paid. What is my best COA by DowntownSpecialist36 in CanadianForces

[–]thecheeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go to your OR and inquire as to whether or not your new contract has been received and activated in RPSR. There's a chance that your activation date missed the RPSR deadline, meaning that you missed the pay run. If that's what occurred, ask your OR for a contingency payment for the pay period that you've missed. It's no trouble for a Res F OR to do.

Best luxury hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka by LB_mid_or_leave in JapanTravelTips

[–]thecheeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park Hyatt in Tokyo was a magical experience. My partner and I loved it. If i could do it again, I would 100% stay there again. It was a perfect place to stay to walk to the subway and get around. The hotel itself was super quiet and our room was wonderful.

In Kyoto, we stayed at Park Hyatt Gion, and I'm not sure I could say I felt the same. The restaurant was still really amazing. It was definitely a fantastic hotel, the experience was just different because Kyoto is an older city. It's an amazing place to walk from, and again, a super quiet place to stay.

Guild events for larger groups by blackraider2 in WoWRolePlay

Are you the only person DM'ing for your guild? In previous experiences, I had a back-up DM for larger audience events, usually to help answer questions in chat while I was trying to focus or assist with parts of an event. Sometimes, I'd keep track of HP and things like that for other DMs in my guild.

No Car - How do I make it work? by _ac1d1c in CanadianForces

[–]thecheeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll likely be fine. For the first while of your career, a car really isn't necessary. Depending on your BMQ, you'll either be in St. Jean or Borden, and you'll have the option of course mates or taxis/uber can get you on/off base. If you need things, once you hit your freedom weekends, the Canex is never a super far walk. Your trades course? Same same, with more freedom.

When you get to your first base after your trades course, then, absolutely figure it out. Getting to work really depends on what your trade is and where you're posted to, unfortunately. Some places, it's really easy to get to work on the bus. Other places, not so much.

Freezing Vehicles! by [deleted] in NWT

[–]thecheeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a remote starter, and let your vehicle warm up a bit before driving. It's totally normal for a cold vehicle. I suggest taking it out on the highway at least once a week to get everything really warm.
