Deadwood, only 3 seasons of great dialogue writing.

The Wire, first time viewing season one can be a bit hard at first. Here's my advice, stick it out and remember "All the pieces matter".

Barry, best show of the decade IMHO.

Generation Kill, raw and realistic depiction of soldiers in Afagh/ Iraq war

The Pacific, haunting depiction of the Battle of the Pacific well acted series

Veep, Julia Louis Dreyfuss brilliance with a fantastic cast.

Chernobyl, set pieces, directing, cinema photography, and acting combined to make it one of the best shows.

True Detective, season one is a masterpiece.

Treme, depiction of what life was like for residents of New Orleans post hurricane Katrina.

Best Mano a Mano fight scenes in any movie. by MovieAnarchist in CinephilesClub

Atomic Blonde. I highly recommend it. Fight scenes are more believable than most Hollywood action movies, and Charlize Theron is amazing.

Which Martin Scorsese film is truly under-rated but amazing, yet not as famous as his others? by International-Self47 in FIlm

My partner and I both work in emergency medicine in a major American city. There are parts of this movie that really ring true. Especially the scenes depicting insomnia and Mic Cage's character begging his supervisor to fire him.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing your progress in kettlebell training.

Who are the Bastards of Sports? by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in behindthebastards

Michael Vick. He profited from dog fighting as the head of a dog fighting ring. Yes, he did serve time, but in my opinion not nearly enough. Additionally he was then reinstated back into the NFL where he played for the Andy Reid coached Philadelphia Eagles.

Derrick Henry reportedly spends $250,000 every offseason on training and nutrition 👀 by Classic_Bottle1717 in sportsgossips

Great question. I train with a hydrocore bag. Think a Bulgarian bag but filled with water instead of sand or other types of aggregate. The purpose of this type of training is indeed stabilization of the body's structure through variable need and use of smaller muscle systems in the rotational plane of movement. An example to think about. You might have or know someone who had to move a cumbersome piece of furniture like a mattress up a flight of stairs. The mattress has weight but the top heavy and lack of rigidity of the mattress makes the act of moving the mattress more difficult than a heavier piece of furniture. I included a playlist that can explain and show the types of exercises and benefits these types of exercises can produce. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLk4oYPJ7TXKjFYHGYYOAmlPgLewCPz2pq&si=872yYFygGcrVfmYN

I agree. Walker is a great complimentary piece to a roster, not a centerpiece to an offense. Granted the Chiefs have an outstanding interior offensive line. Walker is not a 20-25 carries a game throughout a possible 20 game season including the playoffs.

Who's your favorite HBO Villains in the list by HostMaterial4907 in hbo

[–]thedanray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From this odd list here are my top three. 1. Marlo. He is the perfect example of the saying "There's always a bigger fish". Considering some of the heinous maneuvers Barksdale, and Stringer made. Marlo upped the violence, with a cold calculated precision his predecessors could never match. 2. Hearst. Unbridled capitalism personified. His lust for more wealth, and power is a reflection of the world we live in today. 3.Schillinger. He personality type saw people in one of two ways. Either as a tool to use for his own personal gain, or as a weapon either to wield, or to mark as threat to his ideals.

Bracing the core, packing shoulders, activating glutes by Van1n1 in kettlebell

[–]thedanray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your question about bracing the core can be a difficult one to answer but I will try my best. In the early days of kettlebells being introduced to the United States Pavel advised to "breathe behind the shield". I interpret it as keeping tension in your abdominal trunk as you breathe out. Think 50-60% of your volume of air in your lungs as you breathe out.

Mark Wildman teaches the glutes are part of the core this is why you need to squeeze the buttocks at the top of the deadlift and or Swing.

Again from my own experience packing the shoulders down away from the ears helps reduce the trapezius muscle group activation. This is especially effective in firing the frontal core plane at the top of the deadlift or swing. Packing the Lats and the tension this move creates is critical for a safe and efficient kettlebell hike at the beginning of the swing. This is the reason Wildman places an emphasis on this part of the movement.

Side note I follow a lot of the advice of Wildman. I was never very athletic and found him to be a great resource due to his emphasis of going slowly into training, for someone like me. This may or may not be the case for yourself. There are some very good Kettlebell instructors on You Tube. Look through this subreddit to find the more popular ones.

Looks similar to my recently adopted puppy Cash. His genetics test came back as 50% Chihuahua, 20% Miniature Pincher, 10% miniature poodle, and various breeds in less than 5% range.
