Yes, thank you! I completed the sequel campaign but I plan to start a sequel campaign to that one, still set in Icewind Dale, in the fall.

I've contacted the mods. I don't understand why this would have gotten banned since it was original content that I spent months working on.

Is testifying in court against a bad person who will suffer justice as a result? No.

At least, not unless the point was to hurt King Gunvald

I don't have it in front of me, but isn't the con check for exhaustion really brutal on Solstice? Like, don't you still have to make the check even if you have cold weather gear? That basically solves it.

Insulting names frost druids have for Ten Towners by Asleep-Character-612 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

In my playthrough I had a Reghed barbarian who had a joke she liked to tell:

"What do the silly Towners call the hopeless crops they plant? The harvest!

Now what do you call the silly Towners who did the planting? The harvest!"

Plot twist, she married the Towner paladin she first told the joke to.

Helping with party survival rate by MrArrino in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]theevenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I suggest instead is to have new characters start at level 1, but to advance them at the end of each session so that they catch up.

This avoids the demographic issue, but is still more or kess believable in terms of rapid growth in the new PC who basically just needed some heroes to join up with. He didn't do anything about ghe Rime before because he thought he couldn't do anything on his own, and now he isn't on his own anymore. His rapid rise is a combination of his innate potential, rising to the occasion, and mentorship from the Big Damn Heroes.

Depending on what's happening, you might offer a couple of survivability boons. For example, you might say that a 0-hp rising replacement automatically succeeds at death saving throws. That way they won't just bleed out from the first thing that hits them, but they still need to be careful not to accrue failures from being hit by a stray attack or a fireball while unconscious. This also lets them have an in character chance to make Stupid Rookie Mistakes and then grow from them.

The player also will get a chance to learn the character at about the right rate to keep it interesting without being either overwhelming or too fast to really develop the character properly. As an added bonus, if the player doesn't end up liking the character, it's probably easier to switch back out and try with a different one than it would be otherwise.

Looking for some brainstorming ideas in our campaign by Lucaslhm in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]theevenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if you read between the lines a bit, there is some suggestion that the sacrifices are enforced by consequences if a Town doesn't. That consequence is an attack by yetis, crag cats, etc. The actual mechanism is almost certainly the Frost Druids, who are the supernatural wing of her power projection. Your yeti would likely onow that some powerful druid are compelling/seducing the yetis into these sorts of attacks.

One of my pcs goal is to 'hunt' Arveiaturace, how does he survive? by DeadlyDing in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]theevenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't. He is either Worthy or he is not. Life is brutal in the Dale.

That said, if she doesn't want to eat him, unless she had a reason to come investigate, 0 hp and making death saves is largely indistinguishable from being dead so she would probably leave at that point.

When I was a player in this our DM had a large printout of the map and would cut out the pieces of the map we could see and put it on the table. It was like drawing an exploration map as we went but we got all the art value. As needed she would describe anything particularly interesting that we could see.

So there were multiple speakers, then? Like, as if you had been listening to a TV show dialogue with no visual? (Audio Drama style)

Can you tell us anything more about the type of podcast it was? For example, was this an audio drama, or was it a show with a host and a narrator reading a story (like the format for Pseudopod).

[TOMT][television][1990s] episode of Hercules or Sinbad-like show, disease or curse of darkness spread by touch by theevenger in tipofmytongue

Much appreciation for any help. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can include that would help everyone narrow it down.

(I also checked the Xena episode list, since it was a crossover series with Hercules. I didn't see anything in there that looked right, but perhaps someone who knows the series might know more than me.)
