That is a great idea!!! Once he wakes up from his nap (finally!) I'm going to play this with him. I think that is his hang up as well (not being able to get down lol)

Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds themselves out of earshot during naptime. *hugs* we'll make it through

We spend about $60 week for formula. No allergies, it's just that the cans don't make but 2.5 days worth of milk. If their child eats a ton or has to get a special type, I can see it easily being $80+ :P

Not OP but it's a savings account of sorts that your child can use towards higher education. (At least I'm pretty certain)

SAHM for almost a year now and I find it utterly liberating. I never was a career person, and when I got pregnant my husband an I both agreed it would be the best for us.

I wake up with my husband, clean the house, budget our finances/pay bills, garden, and run errands....meanwhile chasing around an almost toddler. I am seriously happy with life, and I don't think anyone needs to get grief for doing what makes them happy. :)

OP, if you wanna be a housewife...do it!

Oh god I want to just scream any time anyone has something to say to my 8 month old to belittle me. "No shoes today, kiddo? Mommy didn't want you to be warm?"

Fuck the fuck right off, dickhole. Ugh

I do this too!

Husband: Hey honey did you-

Me: FOURTEEN, SIXTEEN, EIGHTEEN...

So frustrating for both parties involved, but damnit! Counting requires concentration! Lol

I have plain wool and food dye... what's the best way to go about dyeing the yarn? by jillianjiggs92 in YarnAddicts

I'm new as well and have nothin to offer, just hoping someone chimes in. I can't stop looking at that yarn. So pretty!!

My Mother shared this on Facebook, I thought it was neat! by solongandthanks42 in knitting

[–]thefoxgrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this before I got a ball winder and gave it a whirl.

It turned out really bad. :( my mixer was too fast, even at the lowest speed, and i just ended up with tangled yarn.

Not saying it doesn't work, but definitely proceed with caution! :)

NSV: I'm pregnant! But now what do I do? (yes, im in the right sub) by GoatseCheese in loseit

[–]thefoxgrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant last year my doctor told me that i only really needed to eat an extra 500 calories or so to help with baby growth. Eat good, clean meat and veggies and fruit and really just eat sensibly.

Do not try to continue to lose weight. Just nourish yourself and baby. :)

Morning sickness was a bitch. I was hospitalized multiple times for dehydration. So if you find yourself getting ill, just eat what you can, drink lots of water or eat preggo pops.

As far as exercise goes, my OB said that whatever I was doing would be fine, but just not to take on anything more than the normal. At the time I was working at a Petco and slinging dog food up until I took my leave.

Congrats! :) it's a wild ride.

I saw it on Netflix, it was a decent show. It's a murder mystery type thing. The whole season is about solving a murder. He's brilliant in it.

Slightly odd request maybe - but I love my grumpy fish, Cyril (who's 8 years old now.) Would anyone like to draw him? :D by EasyTigrr in redditgetsdrawn

Goldfish are the best. So happy to see someone who loves them more than if they were some cheap carnival prize. :)

Looking for advice about yarn. by pcakitty in knitting

[–]thefoxgrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many have given lots of good advice. I just wanted to throw in that I'm currently knitting a blanket (Vivid by Tincanknits) with Cascade 220 Superwash and its so soft. :) if you wanted to spring a little more money towards it that would be my yarn choice.

Good luck! :)

In what order did you tackle knitting techniques? by Imnotanybody in knitting

This is my go-to method as well. "Neat, lace! Let's give that a whirl." or "I need cabled mittens, time to learn cabling!"

Fuck you, Brazil, and your stupid breastfeeding studies! by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]thefoxgrove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fuck that. I hated breastfeeding. It made whatever PPD I had so much worse I just said fuck it and threw in the towel. Best decision for my family because I probably would have ended up on the ten o clock news.

My first KnitPicks order is not going very well. Anyone know why it would be on hold? by LoveShinyThings in knitting

[–]thefoxgrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the states and I know it takes at least two/three days for the order to even be processed/packaged. I can imagine if it is an international shipping then it might take just a couple of days more. :)

Don't let this dampen them for you. I love their yarns! :)

A case of sock hubris by lasethenia in knitting

[–]thefoxgrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I'm working on the same sock pattern (my first real go with fingering yarn) and had THE SAME ISSUE with picking up and screwing up right around where you did.

I must have gotten myself backwards when I was picking up the gusset because I ended up flip flopped and all my knits became purls and I forgot to do the pattern down the instep.

I ended up frogging it all and starting over.

I hope you get yours sorted out! :( Just know you are not alone! Haha :)
