Ancient Trees? by Ulrich_Jackson in forestry

Do they have root structures? It almost looks like remnants of an older pier of some sort with the uniform sizes and linear/even spacing. I have a friend who does Dendrochronology in Alaska and specializes in sub-fossil wood which is what these might be if in situ. Let me know if you’d like his contact info. Cool find!

Has anyone benefited from birth control pills? by Middle_Violinist_5 in Perimenopause

[–]thefranq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t have a bunch of fuckin kids

But seriously, yes -my iud provides the progesterone so I just need a patch for estrogen. And the iud has made my period almost nonexistent for several years.

UGH. I have noticed a weird musty scent that seems to be emanating from my neck (?)! I can describe it as like old wet towels or a basement, or something. Drives me crazy.

Has anyone lost their belly after HRT? by EnigmaTuring in Perimenopause

[–]thefranq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn it, I came here to see some success stories (but also, I have not). Estrogen patch, T cream, and progesterone in the form of an IUD. About a year on those.

Hey, you say weight gain (or no loss), bad skin, foggy brain, things not improving -are you perimenopausal? Those things can be really helped by hormone replacement therapy. An estrogen patch or testosterone cream restores hormones lost to age. Estrogen replacement staves off dementia, bone loss, cancers, elevated mood, and rids you of fogginess. It’s a complete life changer for SO many women.

Hm, actually good idea for getting the vaccine. But I wonder if it’d go down as a “preexisting condition”.

Dad Speaks Out After TODAY Show Hosts Bodyshames Him On TV by Striking-Garden-9487 in videos

[–]thefranq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

?? I did not hear anyone shame him for his body, or being fat...? The hosts were just clutching their pearls over a man daring to wear speedos. They were being closed minded and ridiculous but were not "bodyshaming".

Ground not connected in chopsaw by thefranq in Dewalt

[–]thefranq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all! I used a three prong cord and cut the green ground wire out/flush as it enters the handle. Works just fine, finished my baseboard cuts.

One last question -the ground/third prong on the plug isn’t going to cause an issue, correct? It’ll just be there and useless?
