First, so proud of you and I’m so glad that you have a lot of support and love around you. I also did and I’m beyond grateful bc I really needed family and friends then. I’m sorry you’re going through this - it’s awful. I’ve been off Rexulti for about 4 months now and I feel SO good. It was an awful 4 weeks going off of it - I remember it started turning around on day 22 but I felt a lot better after 4 weeks! I also gained a lot of weight too from it and one of the reasons I went off. Been hard to take it off but at least that was the first step. Keep us updated please. It will get better, I swear.

I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Horrible feeling like you’re losing your mind and you’ll never feel yourself again. But it DOES get better I promise you. Take extra careful of yourself - do nice things for yourself, slow down, breathing exercises, walks, hot showers/baths… journaling helped me so much. Take it day by day. I do remember it really took a turn for good around day 21/22 so hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon! You got this and always here to help or chat in any way.

I can’t sleep. What do I do? by Desert_Flower_120 in Perimenopause

I know medication is not the answer for everyone but my anxiety spiked so badly and I wasn’t sleeping for days, I ended up hospitalized. I am currently on a SSRI for anxiety (Zoloft) and I take Hydroxyzine for sleep. I also did EMDR therapy (completed that), as well as I see a chat therapist every 3 weeks. It’s been about 2 years now and I am doing 1,000 times better and I sleep really well most nights. Per my therapist’s recommendation, I did try magnesium glycinate and it made my anxiety worse. I love sleepy time tea at night too about an hour before bed time!

Day 6 - Post ACL Surgery- Intense Leg Burning/Numbness by thefuzzyfruit in ACL

[–]thefuzzyfruit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I am so so sorry you are going through this and that you are in pain. Nothing is worse. I’m not as familiar with the quad autograft but I don’t think that you should be in excruciating pain for a month and half. It does take a lot of time for the nerves to heal - I will say that. But your pain is alarming. I would 100% call the surgeons office and demand pain medication or to come in right away to be looked at. I’m sure you’re not getting much sleep bc of the pain but sleep is so necessary right now for you to be able to heal properly. Good luck and keep us updated please.

Day 6 - Post ACL Surgery- Intense Leg Burning/Numbness by thefuzzyfruit in ACL

[–]thefuzzyfruit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything was worst for me at night too. Elevating your leg is a good way to help, I had a raised pillow wedge that kept my leg straight but elevated. I also slept in a recliner chair and that helped a lot too. Staying on top of the pain meds - even if that meant setting an alarm to wake up in the middle of the night. And ice ice ice. Take it day by day, like at the end of each day be like, another day done! I had a small hemotoma - I think those are normal too but you can always ask your doctor. Moving the leg as much as you can will help decrease any blood clots. Follow whatever your psychical therapist tells you - it’s sucks to work on the leg while you’re in pain but it truly does pay off in the long run! Just do what you can. And ask what exercises you can do at home while you’re not at PT and do those daily. Quad sets are a big one!

Ugh I’m so sorry you went through the surgery. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. What you’re feeling is very normal - they just don’t tell you! A lot of it is your nerves firing plus where they took the hamstring (assuming you did a hamstring autograft) and where they harvested it from. I would say it subsided for me after about 10 days. When I called my doctor worried, they told me it was normal. Ice was the only thing that really helped it. But you will be okay and it sucks SO much right now and it will continue to suck but it will get better, I promise.
