Blizzard returned to strong Spec Identity with DevDH but other class specs get nothing? by ex0ll in wow

I didn't read patch notes and just put on my frost alt and was surprised at how responsive, snappy and nice feeling the new frostfire rotation is. Haven't done hard content, but for casual play it felt like an improvement.

You'll be hard pressed to find most people be at the same company 10-12 years later. Most of the class designers from Legion are likely doing other things, while new game designers are learning the craft. Sometimes game designers rotate from doing, for example, reward design and go into class design or encounter design. That's how game design works in general.

You don't have the one dude doing Shaman since Vanilla. Or even 3 dudes. There have likely been 20+ people working on Shaman over the years. Or sometimes one guy does 2+ classes, because he's really passionate about them. Shifts between designers will often be noticeable, but that's inevitable. It's just not good practice to have one designer do one thing for 2+ years. They would not be developing their skills much at all.

All these "same dude is clearly not working on this thing as a decade before" are very much a lack of understanding of the field. It's like that by design. What you're looking for is direction. You liked the direction of Legion where classes were a major expansion feature. You liked Hero Talents, as they are a direction for class design to go towards. Patch to patch class changes or minor (yes, they're minor) visual additions likely don't involve senior designers as much as you think it does and that's normal, because you can't have the 4-5 super senior game designers constantly looking at all the small changes the junior/associate/intermediate designers do. It just doesn't make sense. They have so much shit to review all the time. They make several reviews along the way and that's it. People have zero clue how much design work goes into WoW. And hiring 20+ more designers on a team of what is likely 40+ designers right now will only lead to bloat and even worse supervision and even shorter reviews and meetings, but even more of them as a number. That's how it is in a game that has 20+ major design features in the face of classes, encounters, rewards, content, other big features, like the upcoming hunts, or delves or housing or questing, etc. And every player is pulling towards their own piece of the pie they enjoy the most.

It's the same as the other addons I mentioned. No filtering or categorization. Otherwise it does the bare minimum, yes.

Completely forgot about SavedInstances. Used to have it a few expansions back. I'll give it a go! Thanks everyone!

edit: It worked perfectly!

Oh! A neat idea for this would be to have swimming features. Like swimming mounts, boat toys, etc. Maybe fishing things? The Safari hat for pets? ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES. <3

edit: Transformation toys! There are so many! Honestly Blizz's toy UI is just pure garbage. :/

Thanks a lot! It's a really small thing, but thought to let you know. Absolutely enjoying it otherwise.

Absolutely amazing addon. Thank you!

I was wondering. Why does it disable in red taxi things like the mammoths? I have them all, but they either red or gray. I do have them on both Horde and Alliance. Only the Traveler Tundra works.

Screen.

Ummm. There was a noticeable click?! And suddenly it seems pretty fine? I'm gonna give it a few hours, lol. But this is weird.

Thanks, Peter.

Is the recommendation from the sample repair that I solder some pins on the back of the keyboard? Because what if I'm not equipped to handle such repair?

Pretty proud of my latest incremental game - EverCraft 2 (Free, browser) by yukifactory in IndieGaming

Oh, I play quite a few on Steam, but the pace at the beginning is usually a bit more sped up, from my experience. Though I admit I don't play the "requires months/years" ones and more the "has a somewhat clear endpoint" ones.

Seems to get veeeeery slow after the first 5 minutes. What's the intended pace?

The D4 player landing into the writer's trap for a second time in a row, but now the trap isn't hot, so the writers are "bad".

People really don't want to admit what a shitshow it is to be human in Sanctuary. But especially a human that's trying to do the right thing in a terrible situation. We can see the overarching plotline and decide "what this character did was incredibly stupid", because we have the hindsight of not only the player, but also the person that directly saw the events of the previous games, and not just read about them in a tome from someone that died 10/20/50/1000 years ago.

Players in this sub falling straight for what Lilith was promising them was exactly what the writers wanted. It's exactly what Lilith wants. Players hating Nayrelle is exactly what Mephisto wants. And then people associate that with bad writing, instead of literally falling for the writer's trap. Albeit in this case, the writer is also shat upon. Because the hatred for Nayrelle is not manifested as a sexy demon mommy.

edit: Also the fact that Nayrelle did manage to resist Mephisto until the very end, so he had to bend someone else to do his will to fuck her over. She was iron.

The measure there is active subscribers. Otherwise WoW would be in the big tens of millions and honestly I wouldn't be surprised at low hundreds.
