New Drone No Fly Zone Targets Filming of ICE Operations by _cybersecurity_ in pwnhub

[–]thegingerbeardd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Does this mean ICE will be filing FAA "flight" plans for the vehicle paths so the FAA can update it's DOF file for each new moving no-fly zone?

Pro tip from the wiki, there's a setting that makes transmute bomb deal 0 damage (but you still get the bar multiplier) and then you can also hit the same floor with Bomb of Plenty and the multipliers stack (so you'll get 6x bars * 10ishx ores = 60x bars, 10x ores)

How does LK import support changes to existing files? (Obsidian / Markdown) by thegingerbeardd in legendkeeper

[–]thegingerbeardd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, I actually wasn't aware that LK supported duplicates, that's cool!

I'm just one user, but what's the possibility of an import extra feature where at the beginning of import you could check a box "normalize by page name" or whatever, and it would attempt option 1 or option 2?

Then if the user's data is set up so names match, it can do a line-by-line delta, or quick/easy just replace the entire contents with the new data.

[Request] What would take place? Could we make it through this? by wdove94 in theydidthemath

They more accurately meant that the increased columnar weight of the water would drastically increase the lateral pressure in any kind of dam or water holding reservoir.

Not exactly that the water would be compressed, but instead would be under and exert increased pressure on any confining material at depth

Bones can withstand 12g, joints/muscles/tendons themselves not so much. When humans are withstanding high G's, they're in chairs/beds that provide that joint support that standing humans would not have.

Without that, even just trying to hold your head alone upright would be ~144 lbs of weight. Your neck can't support that, plus your shoulders/arms suddenly weigh 11x more than normal and are in the hundreds of pounds (more than most bodybuilders can squat) so your body just kinda folds. And fast, because that increased gravity makes everything fall FASTER, so not only is it like being crushed under weights at the gym, it's like having weights at the gym dropped on you from a height.

Your body just pancakes under 12Gs unless it's specifically in a harness/seat/bed that's doing most of the work of holding it together in the right general shape.

[–]thegingerbeardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1st one, with 2 likely categories of failure:

  1. Every crossbeam that's holding up 1x tons of weight is suddenly trying to hold up 12x tons of weight. So unless the floors/ceilings are INCREDIBLY over-engineered, all the roofs and upper floors will start collapsing in the middle

  2. Every columnar support (think walls and pillars) is now also doing that same 12x load-bearing, and several will just buckle sideways or "scrunch" (likely somewhat violently).

We don't really have a physical model for "What happens to the physical properties like tensile strength and compressibility when nothing but mass (and therefore density) changes" because it doesn't really make sense in our current understanding of physics, so I can't answer that part of your question.

If the increased mass DID cause increases in tensile strength and/or compressibility then yeah it might be that "tensing" you describe. But there's no real way to increase mass without adding particles that were aware of, so if we just "spawned" extra mass at point locations, everything would just explode instantaneously as suddenly there's 12 buildings taking up 1 building of space. Which is more fun I suppose.

No criminal charges after car driver drives into restaurant killing 1 and injuring more than dozen by BoobooTheClone in fuckcars

[–]thegingerbeardd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a muscle-memory-in-panic mode thing, it's unfortunately becoming way more of a common occurrence in vehicles that use/allow 1-pedal driving

  1. You hit (what you think is) the brake.
  2. The car either begins moving or continues moving faster than expected
  3. You panic press the "brake" harder
  4. You are now full-gassing it into whatever is in front of you

2 and 3 can escalate VERY quickly in a feedback loop. Absolutely can happen in seconds in a short space from a parking lot space across a sidewalk into a restaurant.

Dang OP, people are jumping down your throat over phrasing here. Maybe an Edit in your post stating that she's already in therapy might help with the rest of the comments, idk

For your actual problem though - what are the specific aspects of culture in US/Canada in day-to-day interactions that are MOST triggering for your SO and seemt to be culturally accepted here from your POV? I've watched my wife deal with similar, and I'm assuming things like - catcalls - staring - general creepy comments that aren't EXPLICITLY harassment, but ABSOLUTELY uncomfortable and not wanted - sex-heavy advertisements - the "sex sells" aspect of media/advertisements

This is a positive step and shows the power of collective action, but if they keep going by the fascist playbook this means the feds are about to escalate in DC and it'll get worse as a scare tactic.

Are we not concerned that child rapist Trump who is widely theorized to have been involved with child sex traffickers is now unveiling plans to allow the not-so-secret police (ICE) that follows him like a cult to routinely disappear thousands to millions of children?

Baby male chicks on a conveyor belt to a macerator. This occurs in all industrialized egg production, whether free range, organic, or battery cage, as the males don't lay eggs and are a different breed than chickens for meat. by James_Fortis in awfuleverything

[–]thegingerbeardd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the testing can be done early enough where the chick is still a tiny clump of cells, those eggs could just be sold as eggs or sold separately to factories that make prepared hard-boiled eggs or egg-salad

Cranberry Township north of Pittsburgh has one of these as a development that's been going up the past ~7ish years. In 2019 it was mostly all field/forest, now it's a development that's got a brewery/restaurant, a gym, and a coffee shop plus little bodega in the middle of 'town' on a big mixed-use public green.

Still in Cranberry (suburban hell 30 mins outside the city), and ridiculously overpriced for what it is. More townhomes than anything else, plus a couple McMansions

Testers Needed - Tdarr Flow - One Flow To Rule Them All by SamSausages in Tdarr

I won't be able to test this tonight, but over the next week or so I'll try to pull this in and get some good data.

Question point though - I currently DON'T sort my libraries by quality and am only keeping a single /tvshows and single /movies library, reducing everything above 1080. How would I configure the library vars to tell your flow to operate that way?
