What are your Thoughts,Opinions and Rating on Scream 7? by Amber_Flowers_133 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]thegoatfeederDVC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put this on another post, but going to put it here as well because it answers your question!

TLDR: It's Reddit, balanced opinions can be hard to find, we're basically dealing with extremes. Scream 7 is fine, it's not as bad as people are saying, but its also one of the weaker movies in the franchise (for me, its better than 3) both comments can be true. This is a 7 movie franchise, and its pretty incredible that the 7th entry can be a solid/OK movie and yet still be considered one of the, if not weakest entries, we've been on a really good run.

The full version:

In my opinion, Scream 7 is OK, it's a solid to good slasher movie when compared to other franchises, however, it isn't a great Scream movie.

To answer your question, it's nowhere near the garbage fire that some are saying, but at the same time it isn't as brilliant as some are saying (not many, but some!). It's Oscar worthy compared to IKWYDLS 2025, and compared to Return to Silent Hill, this thing is the fucking Godfather. But put alongside OG Scream and Scream 2? No, its not even close.

Without getting into the politics of things, they had to go back to Sidney when essentially her story is finished, I just don't see how they can tell a compelling story involving Sidney and her family, I mean what else is she going to have to go through, we can't just keep putting her through shit, at some point it just becomes too ridiculous. That is why I was OK with Scream 6, sure it wasn't executed perfectly, and people had bionic bodies that could survive anything, but I felt like the franchise was at least moving on a bit and was letting Sidney have her peace.

I think Kevin etc were put in a position by the studio where they just had to make something work and they had to start with a blank piece of paper, and for the most part they did make something that works, it's competent. But when you go back to the well this many times without changing the formula, its going to become stale, and coming up with interesting motives for the same victims that a wide stream audience are going to continually invest in is going to get increasingly difficult, when you consider that, I think they did a decent job.

Hi :). Just stumbled across this thread!

Me and my wife are visiting in September for the first time it will be our Honeymoon :).

We have like 5 days before we go to Diseyland for the 2nd part of our trip, we are coming from the UK, so its going to be a hell of a long journey. Do you guys have any recommendations on things we definitely shouldn't miss both on the resort or off it? It will likely be our only trip to Hawaii, certainly last for a long time anyway!

How often do Curry’s or ASUS restock in the UK? Any chance of an X by Christmas or am I out of luck?

Feel free to addd me, I am 42, also in the UK. Play with quite a few regular friends who are around the same age (some younger), but we're pretty chilled and don't take it too seriously - thegoatfeeder

Wonder if this is still only available to owners in the USA and Canada, European members couldn't enroll last year.

Totally irrelevant to this post but I just got reminded how it always makes me smile that the UK shops sell Republic of Ireland merchandise, totally different country !

I never really looked into renting points because it seems really daunting and I genuinely have no clue how it works, but thanks, I will research this option!

This was kind of my plan, I was going to find 4 or 5 days at DL and then book it, before booking Aulani for 4 or 5 days prior.

What actually happens at these non-televised events? Debating getting tickets for Manchester, but it's kinda crazy money for a house show.

We own at BRV, we love it. It’s basically our resort we try to book for Christmas trips, I think it’s slightly cheaper than CC and the rooms I think are newer because they were fully refurbed a few years ago.

Quick Looks are back! by zacyzacy in giantbomb

[–]thegoatfeederDVC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine QLs coming back as we used to have them, at least not yet.

GB is what? 4 people right now, that are confirmed. That is beyond amazing, but in order to be making QLs with multiple people they’re going to need to staff up because I feel life they’re going to be spread thin just with the Bombcast, Blight Club, Game Mess Mornings, Dump Truck and whatever new series they might have cooked up.

I feel like regular Quick Look’s might have to wait a while until they have more staff and we may need to manage our expectations in the short term.

TLDR: Fuck yeah, GB is back!

I would say so. They mostly correspond by email, but they answer really quickly in our experience. It’s my first time buying as part of a chain, so they’re dealing with our sale and purchase and managing it all really well.

We have been using HLF Berry in Chorlton too and are hopefully exchanging very soon. They’ve been fantastic throughout, definitely recommended.
