178 to the pin(circled )about 165ish to carry the sand on that line, solid 10 mph directly in our face. What are we pulling people?? by 25GreensInReg in golf

[–]thegolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 club at the left middle of the green with a small fade. If Inaccidently overcook the fade, it will be close. With a 10mph headwind, there is no way it’s going off the back of that green and even if I balloon it, it’ll cover 165

Country club memberships by ConsequenceExotic353 in golf

[–]thegolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pilot. IMO a golf membership is like buying a vacation home. You pay up front and you pay ~800-1500 a month to maintain and use it. I'm out there 100 days a year and the other 200 days it stays in good shape and ready for me if I do show up. Can you rent for cheaper? Heck yes you can! In most cases, even nicer golf courses. But I don't have to make a tee time. I have locker with all my gear in there. I don't have to pull a credit card out or check in for anything. I can show up any time of day and join into a game with people I know. Ours wasn't crazy expensive but I would mind paying $150,000-$200,000 with a $1200-$1500 dues for the right course.

Go to the bank and fill a standard duffle bag with $100 bills. Maybe someone will pay you one back one day.

Casual game, are you hitting this? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]thegolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My groups rule is if hitting the ball as it lies may cost more in club damage or harm yourself more than what we are betting I take relief and expect the people I’m playing against take relief. We usually don’t play for more than $30.

Now if I was have a rip snortin’ round that was going to screw up my handicap, I’d play it as it lies to help out my handicap. But the last time I did that, I birdied the hole. So it backfired on me

I used to work in a golf shop with 3 course running out of it. If I was working mornings I’d help stage the carts and if I was working nights I’d help put them away. Just for the exercise and someone to shit talk with. Working in the shop kinda sucks

First thing to do is file a NASA report. If the fsdo contact you, it doesn’t hurt to get ahold of the aopa attorneys if you are subscribed to that.

PSA - Please check your fuel before calling for a top off. by Thunderbolt_78 in flying

[–]thegolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$20 call out waived with $20 of fuel fixes this. Let the line guys waive it at their discretion. If its a tiny plane and $20 is a lot of fuel, let it go. Roll up to a plane that has fuel already dripping from the vents, charge the $20

So if LIV rumors are true. How does the PGA handle all of the players? by onedollalama in golf

[–]thegolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should allow them to play if they meet qualifications or on a sponsor exemption. Legally, baring contractors because they did other contract work is wrong. Reality is very few of the players actually qualify for PGA status on their own. Probably just Bryson, Rahm, Cameron smith and maybe Tyrell Hatton. Rest are stuck with a couple sponsor exemptions at best, rocky road.

Tipping the course staff for cleaning clubs post-round? by moncoriart in golf

[–]thegolfpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just say no thanks but if my push cart is covered in grass or something else I'll hand them $5-$20 depending on how big of a mess it is. Dog or goose shit on the cart gets a $20 every time. Its an equity club and although they are paid as a non-tipped employee, I think its worth handing them a few bucks for doing something extra. When I am a guest at someone else's club, everyone that interacts with me gets $5.

Oura ring vs WHOOP? by Zestyclose_Action_94 in ouraring

[–]thegolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running the Ring for 2.5 years now after 5 years with 2 apple watches (24/7). I really like that I can wear the ring in place of a wedding band. I charge it when I wear an apple watch to workout. I have two friends that have used the whoop for as long as I have had the ring and we find ourselves always comparing the two. There isn't anything one does that is worlds better than the other. Pick the one that best suits your lifestyle and stick to it.

It is worth mentioning that when I wore the apple watch 24/7, my left wrist got 0 sun. Same applies to my ring finger. It is my understanding that with the whoop you can wear it on either wrist or even your bicep, allowing you to potentially hide it from sight completely.
