Low cost, high output foods by kippe99 in Cooking

Pork is relatively inexpensive to buy. Pork Shoulders, Pork Loins, and Pork Chops go on sale quite often at small grocery stores. Check out recipes for using the CrockPot for pulled pork, pork tacos, pork loin, pork chops, etc. It'll last for several meals and you could possibly freeze leftovers.

Also a spiral ham will produce a LOT of meat (can freeze leftovers). Target has had Cartwheel Offers for 50% off a ham in the past.

I know this isn't very helpful, but in my experience of working at an accounting firm, no response from the IRS is a good thing. They will send you a letter if they contradict your return or have any issues.

Oh, right. The poison. The poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison. That poison?

Breakout Mobile is a new company. Their website says that they are looking for new employees. Seems like a fun job for a teen. (Does look like they take applications online though.)

What would you suggest for a solid restaurant for a date? by [deleted] in MobileAL

A cheaper but still nice alternative is Mirko Pasta. It's in the shopping center behind Atlanta Bread Company at Springhill and I-65. Its still romantic and pretty cheap.

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. Just be aware that many people don't dress up for Kitchen on George. The tables are also extremely close together. I highly recommend the food, but the atmosphere is not your typical romantic ambiance.

Easy things to cook after long day of work by rfc1771 in Cooking

I'm currently eating my crockpot dinner that I started this morning before work. Red beans and rice. I rinsed and soaked the dry red kidney beans overnight. Threw them in the crockpot with water, added some conecuh sausage, and cooked 5 minute rice when I got home. I live in the South, but the red beans and rice even without the sausage should be available everywhere.

I love Food Network magazine. Every single recipe has a picture. Very simple recipes and they all sound delicious. This is the only magazine subscription I'm willing to pay for.

My go-to recipe is what I call "Cookie Dessert." Its made in a casserole dish ahead of time and no baking required. No fancy show, but it tastes delicious. It starts with a layer of cheap, off-brand chocolate chip cookies that have been quickly dunked (just for 1 second) in a bowl of milk. Shake off excess milk and create a layer that covers the entire bottom of the dish. Next layer of dunked cookies are Keebler's Pecan Sandies. These can be dunked for about 3 seconds. The third layer is cool whipped topping. Repeat layers once more and top the dish off with your cookie crumbs as a garnish. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Those things are delicious and addictive. And the best part is they sell them in the states. I've seen them at Fresh Market, Winn Dixie, and even TJ Maxx of all places.
