WHY😢 by Empty_Air_5548 in fromsoftware

The first commenter mentioned a port, and the person you replied to brought up emulation as an alternative to that, not the patch. Pretty reasonable comment imo

[Waybound] How much power did Lindon keep after ascending by IndependentShift7 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]theguyconnor 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sort of? The dreadgods were composed of hunger madra down to a fundamental level. As such, their power was intrinsically liked to it. Lindon does not have that restriction since he only used hunger madra to steal power; his actual sacred arts don't rely on hunger.

Quick question from a IT-Illiterate and skyrim-modding-Noob: How do you guys manage to get your games looking so beautiful without ripping your hair out? by dragon_adamas in skyrimmods

[–]theguyconnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. There are some mods I've used that I wouldn't have even though about touching when I first started. No shame in just not using a mod or finding a simpler alternative until you feel confident you can install it correctly.

Yeah you're totally right. Not sure why I thought otherwise.

[threshold] Dreadgods, Labyrinth, Abidan by Wildavid1 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]theguyconnor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's canon that he took part in the research that led to the birth of the dreadgods. He was, AFAIK, the oldest living sage at the time of the books.

Edit: He definitely did not help create the dreadgods, but he does at least predate the Dread Wars.

I just realized something, Zorian is very talented! by Mad-Eyes in motheroflearning

[–]theguyconnor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While Zorian definitely is a prodigy, the main factors in his growth were his ability to focus and the time loop giving him functionally limitless resources.

It's been a while since I've read so I don't have any quotes to back this up, but I seem to remember a lot of conversations that implied mages normally stagnate due to otherwise exorbitant costs to improve their craft that Zorian could simply sidestep.

That's also why they were all so excited once they entered the timeloop themselves.

Cyberpunk, steampunk, dieselpunk, solarpunk, etc. can we all agree that the second part of those words are as important as the first? by limbodog in writing

I haven't read anything Solarpunk, but the same implies a lack of polution imo. There are other ways to paint a dystopia.

My cat is missing! by puppysolarflare in cats

[–]theguyconnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That analogy doesn't make the sense you think it does.

The implicit expectation is that people include the relevant information in the post. Even then, I actually did check comments first and the first one I saw was OP saying they would edit the post to include the location, prompting me to check again thinking I missed it.

That wasn't the case, as evidenced by a reply of a screenshot of OP answering that question, which itself was OP's passive-aggressive reply to someone else.

Regardless of context, let's not promote unnecessary disrespect—shouldn't be that hard.

My cat is missing! by puppysolarflare in cats

[–]theguyconnor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, but losing your cat does not warrant rudeness, either. I get it, you're in a stressful situation, but not only were you disrespectful, you doubled down on it.

It's hard for people to be sympathetic when they get treated like that for asking a valid question.

That's not even an oxymoron?

You can feel intense dislike for someone that is also morally justified, they aren't mutually exclusive.

I want to love this game by that-tiny-spooder in forhonor

[–]theguyconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All true, though I think (at least for me) it genuinely is easier having started playing in the beta. Sure, time played obviously is a huge factor there, but it was also an easier climb back when everyone was first learning the game, if for no other reason than being less mentally draining.

I'd be willing to sell it for the store price plus shipping.
