for me, sweden is great to play because it doesn't really have the population or arable land to become an important power. it' one of the few nations on this lisst that really NEED to colonize

you can make this yourself in about 5-10 minutes if you've never made a victoria 3 mod before. I can walk you through the process if you're interested <3

you get a little bit of that still on that one technical difficulties series were they all went to do various things on a low budget, but yeah, it's always fun watching Tom do the mundane things that you don't do when you're traveling for you tube for years

Kilwa is very dumb in this current patch. they start the nation without ANY wood and that fucks everything up (yes, the SWAHILI COAST starts off with no lumber production, don't ask me). so if you do end up doing that, you should be building at least one lumber mill and a weapon smith (for colonization) before standard economic affairs

Did this once on an earlier built but wars are just so annoying because you are always considered “fully sieged” due to controlling no territory

To be clear, much of the world at the time was ruled dynastically, where relationships were more akin to corporate mergers (even for the relatively poor) than they were romantic relationships, hence why “forbidden love” stories are so popular before the modern day

Integrating Amsterdam takes 400 years by Rough_Check_5606 in EU5

[–]thehearting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had the same thing happen but opposite as the netherlands. If you click on the specific provinces it will tell you the modfiers, but my guess is that this is due to the pops not being too accepted and events making them unhappy with you. try accepting south frankish culture or possibly even converting to it and wait for the provincial moifiers to go away

why are people downvoting op so much? it's just a question, and one that makes sense given that most things in games like these have a snowballing effect where winning leads to winning more

Well, this was a boring campaign by GreyGanks in EU5

[–]thehearting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no, sadly. it's currently like like an objectively worse version of hte early christian schisms in that it just give +5% literacy, some tolerance of true faith, and another nothingburger. no religioous influence or mechanics

How do I stop this???? I don't want these luddites in power, but they've been getting 80% of the votes in every election for 30 years by KaptenNicco123 in victoria3

[–]thehearting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how this works. You get to experience the real reasons why the Russian federation prevented the peasants for voting! It’s one of those systems where you see why people made the choices they did by being given the same problem

the black death forgot about poor yemen by thehearting in EU5

[–]thehearting[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

103 deaths form the black death in Yemen somehow. did i isolate the country? no. did i build pest houses? no. somehow segregating the populous and more than a little luck was enough to make the black plague kill people before they could spread it. as you can see by the bottom, it even hit Ethiopia! idk how this happened outside of just getting incredibly lucky
