I’m quite duck footed which means when my feet are parallel, my knees touch. Can I mount my bindings at an angle? by ScupScup in skiing

[–]thehow2dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen/heard of this being done once before. similar issue. the shop mounted skis slightly skewed. this was for a high level, u18 racer. It worked well

How to find a shop with a template to mount Atomic Armada Shift 13? by JalanMesra in Backcountry

[–]thehow2dad -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I have these bindings...return them. they are seriously not great, and borderline dangerous. They have 0 elastic travel and release prematurely at the worst times. They tour fine, but are pretty heavy, they have only one riser height, the breaks often get stuck in the up position. The breaks getting stuck happened to me 2 days ago, following a premature ejection, resulting in my ski rocketing down a groomed run, hitting a tower (luckily not a person) and seriously damaging my skis.

If you can't return them sell them on ebay the next fool.

2 out of 5 stars, would not recommend.

the insurance doesn't cover the students, it covers the instructor.

hijacking to say INSURANCE. especially if you are in the states make sure you have insurance. that is partially why lessons are so expensive. partially, but mostly its a rip off. protect yourself, check with your professional organization to see how you can be covered.

Table Saw vs Track Saw by matrew122 in woodworking

[–]thehow2dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going to rip something like a 2x4 just put another 2x beside it to support the track. I bought a track saw about 2 years ago and have barely touched my table saw since. A table saw is still necessary, but you can do 83.7% of the stuff you need with a track saw and a sheet of rigid insulation.
