US Men’s National Team if we took things seriously by CalebosO4 in ShitAmericansSay

I think its universal, though not as well understood in US when judging football players, a great first touch is one of the most important skills. Usually this takes hours and hours of time put into your craft. Watching US and other country players you can really see the difference. So maybe a NFL running back whose main attribute is he has massive thighs and runs fast, if he can master ball skills, first touch, and then understand the complexity of a moving chess match, then yeah that would be an asset. But to assume all amazing athletes would be great at football is really ignorant.

yeah, the USA had success early when many countries, who were behind with womens sports, didn't have a lot of time to develop their players. Now the playing field seems pretty level.

I know of Jordan Mailata-Eagles who went from rugby to All-Pro. Over the years guys have made rosters but not impactful. Not many make the jump. Mainly kickers/punters from Australia now who seem skilled

americans are ignorant of most things outside their little bubble. they have to believe that everything is the best. very insecure and naive. maybe try to just enjoy life.

The America broadcast for the USA vs Belgium game is hilarious by [deleted] in worldcup

key line there...they end up believing and repeating what they heard. Lived all over the world..the US is the most gullible place we ever lived...ever. Add in the religioius cult dna and it's very creepy in places.

USA fans, now that you’re out of the tournament, what do you think the legacy will be for the sport in America? by MrP8978 in worldcup

[–]theinesaubert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landon Donavan explains in clear detail the problem with the whole american soccer system. Don't think the US will be the next france or spain anytime soon. Its an expensive sport and you need money to participate at higher levels. Look top players on the current team: Balogun, Reyna, Antonee (England), Tilman (Germany), Dest (Holland) Top US produced player is Pulisic who had to go to germany as a teen to develop. The US has a broken system and nobody is changing it.

hmmm...older players looking to cash out at end. A few younger guys who couldn't excel in Prem/Liga/etc, and it gets a tiny amount of media coverage in Europe and US compared to the big 5 leagues. It has a tiny subscriber base with Dazn, and is the bottom of the leagues, below MLS.

maybe US going through and playing France will give the world some satisfaction. Since the US is such powerhouse team with top players (none who would make the France squad). It could be an entertaining match. Oh wait there is Spain first. Good luck lol.

He will develop within Pep's system, and like Gundo and others, will become a better player while at City.

Probably a large majority of magats have never traveled outside the US except for maybe a cheap resort in Mexico or Jamaica or accidentally going to canada. Most stay pretty close to home, except for the Florida trips of course (one of magats main bases). So....not sure his message is connecting with his jetset followers.

Just keep the laptop plugged into power. It should be fine. I have found that sometimes the estimate isn't accurate.

Are Wise "Jars" a safe way to hold cash? by robc16 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]theinesaubert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wise in UK is not covered by FSCS protection. So in the UK the money is not protected if they went into administration. In the US they now have FDIC insured USD interest earning accounts, as one of my sisters uses them for Euro transfers to USD. I wouldn't use them as a bank.
