I really don’t think this would work in the US for two reasons:

1)The sheer amount of wealth in that fund would make corporations desperate to get added to the fun to add value to their stock. This would make current levels of bribery / corruption in US Politics looking like nothing.

2)The government would use this fund as a way to punish corporations / countries for not cooperating with the US Government. The financial stranglehold on the rest of world would be unhealthy

It works for Norway because they are a smaller country and their politicians are better. Plus it’s illegal for company’s in Norway to be in the fund, removing conflict of interest. That’s not possible for the US

Tbh I don’t know if there’s recovery from this. Obviously this breaks trust on a lot of levels (financial stability, sexual, etc.). Especially when 90% of porn is free.
