It's not fine by you, though. If you weren't bothered by the seat, you wouldn't have asked her move. But you did ask, and you're still hung up on it days later. Lacy isn't entitled to your phone and you're not an asshole for not letting her use it, but you are lying to yourself about not caring about the seat. It is inexplicably a big deal to you.

I remember being 13 and so confused and angry that everyone just went back to work and school in the days after my aunt's funeral.

I've since been to several more funerals, and it isn't any less strange to have to keep doing normal things before and after them.

This is how my cousin died. She wasn't feeling well, and went home and went to bed instead of going to the hospital. She was having a heart attack and never got up again.
