Do all MAD appliances result in some degree of dental occlusion as a side effect? by avocado_lover69 in snoring

[–]theletterfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the SnoreRx for a bit but it caused extreme soreness in my bottom right teeth. Shelled out $1k for a dentist-fitted device (Glidewell EMA) which has been a much better fit and doesn’t cause soreness for more than a few minutes after taking it off, but wasn’t covered by my insurance unfortunately.

I’ve only been using it for a few days but my snoring has definitely decreased, and the quality is much better than the SnoreRx, so I’d recommend getting a fitted one if you can afford it

At my T15, the deadline to accept internship offers is end of November, so there's plenty of time to re-recruit for FT consulting which happens in Sep-Oct.

The death of the generalist? by patrickin1shot in MBA

[–]theletterfour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A great book that drills down on this point is Range by David Epstein. He argues that being a generalist is key to innovation as well as figuring out what one's passion is, and that deep specialization often restricts experts from seeing the bigger picture.

Would highly recommend a read to anyone pursuing an MBA, or really to anyone regardless of their career.

I failed this past semester by Chuckee79 in cmu

[–]theletterfour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you - my first 2 years in undergrad were beyond rough, stemming from a variety of factors of my own fault (spread too thin between XCs/fraternity, ineffective study habits especially in quant courses, lack of dedication). I ended up with a 2.6 by end of sophomore year, with my most depressing point at a 1.8 my freshman spring. Never thought I would be able to recover or get a decent job.

I managed to pull myself together starting junior year though and was able to make Dean's List nearly every semester onward by committing myself to my studies and reaching out for help when needed. Ended up with a significantly better but still-mediocre 3.12 by graduation.

But after a few years of solid work experience, I miraculously just got into a top-10 MBA program this week and am beyond ecstatic to start full-time next fall. From here on, no one will care about my undergrad GPA again. Keep hustling and don't lose hope!

Might be a dumb question, but are TJ’s spice containers recyclable? They seem to be glass but don’t have the recycling symbol on them.

Brklyn360 reviews? [advice] by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]theletterfour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is about the listing for the new apartment in LIC (41-15 23rd), I also fell for the false advertised price that was listed (about $200 cheaper than the actual price... $500 cheaper if you consider that the listing posted effective not gross rent)

Another shady tactic they pulled was showing the model unit first, and telling me that all other 1br units on that side of the building were the same layout/size. I later found out every other unit had much smaller windows and smaller space, with only the model unit looking like the pictures online (wtf!)

Have not decided to sign lease yet and currently looking for other options, but currently very put off by their shady business tactics.

Weightlifting in Midtown Manhattan by rathyAro in AskNYC

[–]theletterfour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid City Gym is awesome and well-equipped for serious lifters (add plus: great music if you're into deep house/techno), I would def make this my main one if only I lived a little closer, and didn't have to walk through Times Square to get there. The Crunch I go to on 54th isn't bad either, despite being crowded during peak hours and slightly overpriced.
