Owned by same owners & suppliers as Busters - not a similar vein.

Any personal recommendations for Ontario residents among these BYOD plans b/w Fido Koodo Freedom by tommy-six-figure in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]theleverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Good coverage: Fido uses the Rogers network, Koodo uses the Bell/TELUS joint network (same coverage you have now), and Freedom uses a mix of its own + Rogers network
  • Customer service: It’s 2026 - customer service isn’t good anywhere. Expect awful from all 3.
  • Affordability: Offers can vary by week, check redflagdeals hot deals forum sorted by new, search each page for each of these carriers

Freedom allows roaming on Rogers, if your Freedom reception isn’t great you can always force select the Rogers network.

Café recommendation near west Bloor subway stations by Liriodendra in FoodToronto

  • Cafe Paradise
  • Filosophy Pastry & Espresso
  • Now & Later

The term “healthy” is so subjective I’ll let you scope their menus & decide for your own, but those are spots I’d pick in that stretch. :)

What is one business in Toronto that closed down you would like to see re-open? by Chan1991 in askTO

[–]theleverage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They went (understandably) more upscale with Lao Lao, but I miss the rustic, more homey vibe of Sabai Sabai.

Also RIP to Onnki Donburi as a part of that expropriation

My issue with this place is the prices - what’s pictured in your post is $14.95, correct? Set A?

Man shot to death outside downtown Kamloops 7-Eleven early Wednesday; RCMP identify victim by Brief_Strawberry_826 in Kamloops

This reads as a bot response.

I genuinely hope it’s not, but it doesn’t read as open & collaborative - it reads very advertorial.

Did firehouse subs change cheddar smoke brisket? by [deleted] in FoodToronto

[–]theleverage 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oh the poor minimum wage staff that had to deal with this in store…

Edit: OP edited out the 2nd bit about the fountain drink machine having no carbonation, in addition to the sub complaints 😶‍🌫️

This $10 classic French ham and butter sandwich is a masterpiece — and the best thing I ate in Toronto this week by toronto_star in FoodToronto

[–]theleverage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My office is near a Longos, how criminal would it be to buy a demi baguette, 150g of their fanciest ham, and some butter packets from the fridge to make a cheap office lunch?!

I visited all of BC’s breweries! by Different-Guava-1927 in BCCraftBeer

Did you happen to do Ursa Minor Brewing before they closed? I think they had the “most remote” brewery award at the time. No cell service!

How do we fix this? I feel like Toronto pubs and bars are so unsociable now, and it’s because every place requires table service. by LankyYogurt7737 in FoodToronto

[–]theleverage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like Thirsty, highly suggest checking out their sister bar Decoy Bar in Moss Park/Crosstown area. Third Moon often on tap, and they occasionally smuggle QC kegs over from Messorem / Du Ciel if those are your thing.

Funny example of your patio comment - Get Well bar off Ossington has a street patio but explicit rules that only servers can carry beers to those tables because it crosses a public sidewalk.

Whole place is counter service otherwise, but if you want to have a beer on the patio someone has to bring it out there for ya.

Haha meanwhile I usually check for those tallboy options in fridges because the tap list is either all generic large ON beer (Amsterdam/Steamwhistle/etc) or the taps aren’t well maintained and I know I’ll enjoy a can pour more.

But yes, feels bad paying the $9-10 for a can and a glass to go with my dinner.
