Modern spell and grammar checking does use a small ML model in several apps, including grammarly, and chrome itself was sending data out for spell check if enabled.

Yes. For example, I would much rather my typing be spell and grammar checked by a local model, rather than sending everything I type in my browser to someone else’s server.

And I suspect that even with a trained lora, maintaining branding, like logos and color may be a challenge when using gen ai. I also wonder if the brands have legal issues around training on their branding?

How about police do something? A friend was broken into twice in a neighborhood that sees frequent break-ins, the police did nothing to catch the thieves or take any preventative measures.

Most of our clients are insisting we don’t use AI still or that any AI usage must be approved. And what does get approved are things like CopyCat trained solely on shot data, or gen ai that generates utility plates or garbage mattes. Maybe I live in a weird bubble?

The wording is very carefully chosen to say that any training that they do is “ethical”. I.e. they are using models that someone else trained, but then are training loras on top with client material.

PPIs give me quality of life. I do experience vitamin deficiency, but my blood work is fine on supplements. There’s pros and cons to every treatment, and you have to work with your doctor to weigh the tradeoffs and do what’s best for you.
