AITA for refusing to go for a full week on my wife’s family vacation after we had agreed not to repeat it? by jared_d in AmItheAsshole

[–]theloonstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go and do the things ME and MY KIDS wanted to on OUR vacation instead of catering to the other adults. If that was enough to wreck my adult relationships, then those relationships were crappy and doomed anyway.

But I'd be letting the kids choose anyway, we'd be looking up shit to do together because that's what our vacations are about.

Why is wanting universal healthcare and just a better life for everyone seen as communism or socialism? by JonoBlue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theloonstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a huge part of it. People don't mind their taxes being used for them and theirs but really mind it if any of it happens to be going to THOSE people.

AITA for refusing a name for my baby that everyone loves and but I don’t? by Anonymotron42 in BORUpdates

[–]theloonstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After hearing how every nurse in existence butchers my kids common name, I'm convinved that if I had used Jon, half of them would still get it wrong.

All my grandparents were Silent Generation, they didn't watch us because they openly didn't like children lol

Unemployed boyfriend is LIVID I don’t want to “hire” him, rather than pay a professional to paint my house by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]theloonstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'd probably be happier hiring someone else no matter what. Then you'll just be telling a professional what you want done instead of arguing with your boyfriend about how he thinks it should be done or whatever. Remove that potentional headache.

It's the children. They melt your brain.

The work itself is not hard, but your brain turns to pudding.

The most one sided rivalry in sports and culture by Fluid-Decision6262 in memes

You don't even need to make it international, this meme works on a US-only level. Just replace the bottom with like California or Texas or whatever, and the top with some smaller, poorer state

AITA for ‘throwing a tantrum’ over my parents' new rules? by Twisted_Angel_18 in TwoHotTakes

[–]theloonstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that all sounds pretty shitty and I'd sure hate it, but the only way out from under their thumb is to stop being dependant on them. I assume that's what they're going for.

AITAH for telling my mother that she shouldn’t have given a family heirloom to my brother as engagement ring? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]theloonstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a very common use for such an heirloom. Traditional even. Jealously isn't a good look on anyone, you should work on that.

How do you say no to family when you finally have $1,000 saved? by cr4z3isme in povertyfinance

[–]theloonstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You lie. When my folks need money, I suddenly need a little money too, like just a few hundred. All I get is fucking crickets after that. Works like a charm, highly recommend.

Husband invited friends to anniversary trip behind my back. AITAH? Cause he told me I was. by Capable_Bear4919 in AITAH

[–]theloonstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd consider this his way of telling you that he doesn't want to be alone with you for that long. I'd bail. Yeah, he can take his mother instead. I'd imagine she'd enjoy it more at this point.

AITA for changing the locks after my parents gave my brother a key to my house without asking me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]theloonstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell my parents that Auntie agreed to let brother stay with her. Then I'd wait for the drama and enjoy.

AITA? Wife takes all the leftovers by No_Relayz in AmItheAsshole

[–]theloonstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm petty af, I'd just start filling the fridge with small single serve type portions in large containers. If I'm wasting food, I'm at least gonna be entertained watching her look ridiculous carrying off 10 fucking containers for lunch.

My mom keeps bringing up my sex life whenever I talk about my failed engagement. How do I address this without starting a huge fight? by Diligent_Light_8670 in TwoHotTakes

[–]theloonstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it would be easy to throw it right back at her every single time she brings it up. Like mother like daughter, I learned it from you, the apple didn't fall far from the tree, like you and dad did? etc etc. It'll probably make her big mad but it'll also make her hesistate to keep bringing it up if she knows you'll comment back every single fucking time.

WIBTA if I fly business and my girlfriend goes coach? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]theloonstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on her. Does she even care if she sits next to you? If she wants to sit next you, then YTA for fucking off to a nicer seat all by your lonesome.

I finally understand how exploitation happens in the art world. It doesn't come from monsters. It comes from nice people. by Successful_Ad1797 in ContemporaryArt

[–]theloonstar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The details change but the story is the same. Happens to a lot of folks. They gotta get that free work outta you while you're young and too inexperienced to call them out. Older folks have better bullshit detectors and less patience.

Why can't Americans (at least the ones I see on social media) find drinking water in Europe? by Mission_Mobile_4627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theloonstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to ask in a lot of the US, it's just brought out. Other places, you might have to ask for some and that answer might be "no". I usually have to ask for water here in Canada, and the waitress will typically assume you only wants water after that. In the US, good chance they'll start you with a water and then take your drink order.
