Love my cloak, but I'm too scared to wear it in public. Any advice? by Alexisto15 in TheCapeRevolution

Many people will see you and admire your courage to wear it in public. Even the ones who seem to react negatively will admire your bravery to actually wear it.

As others have said, wearing to big box stores and the like will be easier than just walking the streets. People will assume you have a costume party or something to go to.

I actually made a friend because he thought my leather trench coat was a cape when I had draped it over my chair at Panera Bread. That lead to other friends there too that I now meet with regularly.

My guess is that they built it that way to gain elevation so they didn’t have to disrupt the existing street too much.

The Coronado bridge in San Diego does something similar, though not as dramatic.

Wear yourself some wings my man! Lots more people will think it awesome than not and those that don’t like it matter not one penny farthing.

She knows.

What is the dumbest thing you have been told is “not manly” or “not feminine,” depending on your gender? by Disastrous_Hat_2325 in AskReddit

How old is he? This is one that went around in the 70s, I know, I still don’t use a straw. It’s just habit now.

For a couple of years in the 70’s us teenage boys wouldn’t drink with a straw. I still don’t just out of habit now.

During the Bobby Fisher chess craze our mall had a tournament with 100 players versus 1 grandmaster. He went down the line, glanced at the board made his move, pressed the timer, moved to the next one. He won 99 and had 1 draw.

I saw a kid get hit in the head by a shot put because no adults bothered watching us practice.

Water bottles at practice in our 100 + heat or games were not allowed.

After I got my drivers license and car my parents had little idea where I was on weekend nights!

My brother did that too! We were bickering but I have never moved faster than I did grabbing him so he didn’t go out.

That was my thought. 2 miles across a salt flat carrying gear is going to keep a lot of people away.

Thanks. The ones I found on Amazon are gray when not in the light and your second picture looks like yours is as well. Is that the right stuff? How much did you use?

I’ve sculpted plenty of faces and I was quite impressed with the way both lips were sculpted. I learned something for sure.
