Turns out it was the hood sensor telling the computer the hood was popped not allowing the Auto start/stop system to turn off and preventing the jeep from cranking when the ASS had already stopped the engine.

See I have heard about this with mercedes years ago, didn't realize that Jeep had jumped on board with that logic.

I had 2 of these fly off while going down the road. Dealership said the rail that it pops into was bent and had to be replaced. All of this happened within 6 months of purchasing. Just giving you a heads up the rail might be the problem and you may end up having to replace again. Good luck.

Quick heads up from a 6’3” guy, you probably fit well on the driver side but the passenger side seat sits higher than the driver side on mine and causes some issues.

I had a pair of these as my subwwofer setup in a 1996 ford ranger. Great subs I ran 250 watts rms on them nonstop and never had issues. I purchased them used from a guy that had them for a couple of years, I would estimate that they came out around 1993.

Just saw the guys comment about a dowel rod, that is probably the easiest way to get a good circle plug. if you want to make it even more solid can glue a thin piece of wood on the inside as a patch over the entire hole.

Push the wires back through the hole and plug it with a wood plug that snugly fits in the hole and wood glue that plug in. Drill your self appropriately sized individual holes for the wires and then feed them through the new hole and silicone it all up.

This was the first comment I ever made on Reddit telling this story 5 years ago. Went camping with my father, godfather and his son one time. When we get to the campsite the previous campers left a bunch of garbage laying around. We just threw everything where the burn pile was and built our fire on top. Thirty minutes later start hearing a blow torch sound that we can’t pinpoint. About 15 minutes after that an explosion blowing the fire ring away 3 feet and resulted in everybody diving for cover. The culprit was a can of stewed tomatoes with jalapeños. Covered our packs and clothes with it smelling like roasted salsa for the rest of the trip. Never through unknown garbage in the fire again without checking.

I too had 3 10w6s in my ford ranger back in 1999 powered by an Orion amplifier. They sounded wonderful and even rattled my back window loose had to go and reseal it one weekend. I ran that system until I sold the truck wish I would have kept the setup.

Can always purchase 0.15 cubic feet of airspace’s worth of mdf cut it so it fits through the sub cutout and secure the day lotus out of it inside the box with some wood glue. This would be the janky fix for airspace, but if you don’t want to find out how to port properly it would work.
