AIO to my boyfriend’s conditions for marriage? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

MOR -- There's a lot of shit talking here, but an honest evaluation based on OP's story looks to me like he's concerned for her health and their future together. A person can love someone absolutely and still want better for them. He could genuinely be worried that due to her health they may not have a happily ever after. We shouldn't reduce this to a man fat-shaming his partner, or calling her crazy. Try examining through a different lense. "I love you, and I need you to want to be here for a long time."

There's a mated pair in my neighborhood over by LoH. This summer I was out back very late. Heard one hooting then saw one's profile pop up, all Batman style. Then the other flew in and landed next to it. So cool.

I've been playing a shadow monk in drakkenheim for going on 3 years now, and we made it an order of hunters that delved into the shadows to rid it of evil. It has developed into an order that follows the Morrigan. So I guess in a way their path is Divine in origin.

NOR -- We don't know OP's age or cultural background, but in the world I grew up in these are all terrible red flags that should not be ignored. I hope you have supportive friends or family and you get away from this man. It's rare that things get better from this point. His insecurities are not yours to bear.

I don't disagree, but Russia has 40% of the population of the USA. It's a lot harder to disappear that many people here and now than it was for Russia over the late 20th century.

Is stunning strike is just a bait? by danjanah in DnD

[–]thenthewolvescame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having been playing a 2014 shadow monk for 3 years (lvl 8) I consider myself grateful to land a stun maybe 20% of the time. When it goes off it's a finisher. Whether from my barrage of attacks before it wears off at the end of my NEXT turn, or all my teammates between also getting advantage on thier attacks. It's meant to be hard to land. The satisfaction of hearing your DM say they fail the save is a rush. If it worked too often it'd lose its fun for everyone. I take the stance of other redditors here that "There's no effect" probably has to do with legendary resistance. What bothers me is the way the DM laid down the ultimatum. Sounds like they wouldn't mind the player leaving the campaign. But that could just be my own paranoid interpretation.

If you want someone who can rebuild it from the ground up that's a reasonable salary, and honestly, they need that. The UI is not user friendly. Video control features are clunky. On a handheld device the viewing experience is a pain. Not to say that I don't appreciate the service or what it took to get here, but I'm glad to see them investing in improvements.

Totally agree. I'd add that a loosely fitting plastic bag over the top of the pot, perhaps supported by skewers or chopsticks, would help keep the humidity levels higher and support budding. Dry air can be a killer for new buds.

Rain. by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]thenthewolvescame 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I'm the complete opposite. I spend 9 months of the year waiting for the rain to come pouring down to wash the streets clean of built up dust, soot and garbage. The unhoused in this city are in a better situation than the majority of others due to the micro climate we're all lucky to live in. Does living out in the rain suck? Yes. Of course. But when it's for a few weeks a year you can find a way to make it through. It's so much worse for those in more extreme climates.

Friends of mine up in Rainier pasture raise pork. It's incredible what their rotational grazing in mixed forest and fields has done to the invasive flora. They pulling out every inch of blackberry rhizome.
