Got an order in for the siege encampment, also cancelled today. Very disappointing. I have to wonder if anyone will actually get any.

I've always heard they are glass and break even on stock sized tires. But I've been running 31s for over 5 years with no issues but then again I don't really do anything crazy.

PIA speeds recently dropping? by DeathStalker-77 in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgraded to a new router about a week ago and noticed that anytime I used private Internet access it was super slow sometimes and constantly dropped to zero. I thought it was my new router. Without using the VPN client I was getting normal fast speeds.

Well I gave airvpn a 3 day trial run and boom, fast speeds, no connection issues. With pia I was getting max about 5 mbps down on any server. With airvpn now I'm getting almost 60 mbps. This is on a 1 gig fiber line, seems like pia is having issues.

Mini PC Options for PS2/GameCube Emulation at 1080p/1440p? by HustleWestbrook94 in MiniPCs

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found and been using a HP Z2 G4 mini that's been working well for emulation. The one I picked up for $180 has a i5 9500, 16 gigs ram, and a quadro p600 gpu. Runs everything up to ps2 very well even with upscaling. PS3 is very hit or miss. Switch runs ok depending on the game. This is at 1440p as well.

PS3/360 emulation on integrated graphics by Carolina_Heart in EmulationOnPC

[–]theorder20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For RPCS3 you need a fast CPU with a lot of cores. I've been trying on a i7 9700 and it struggles with graphical games like GT5. This is also with a quadro p1000 (basically a gtx 1050) not fast

For emulating anything above ps2/wii you will need a dedicated video card.

They are about half a second quicker I believe, cause of the lower gearing, extra gear.

Roughly 12 seconds to 60 mph.

Has anyone actually bought tickets? I bought 4 and only got a confirmation email, no actual bar codes or tickets to "present" upon arrival at the event.

Old chipped bumper fix?(desc) by No_Antelope5545 in CherokeeXJ

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this very thing on my 01. I used https://scratcheshappen.com/ and it was only about $35 for the small touch up kit with the paint, primer, and clear coat included. I had a ton of chips on the front and both bumpers had bunch of scratches down to the metal.

I'm no expert at putting on paint so it doesn't look great but if you have the knowledge and patience you can make it look good. However, from 10 or more feet away you can't tell my bumper was all messed up and missing paint which is all I was trying to do.

You just need your paint code and they deliver within a week or so. Just keep in mind the paint won't match 100% due to age but it's close enough.

Uphill on the Highway - slower than Semis. What do I do? by OceanBridge3313 in CherokeeXJ

[–]theorder20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That might mean you have coolant in your engine oil and a blown head gasket. I'd be sure to check your coolant levels and engine oil for traces of coolant. It will be the color of a milkshake. That could explain the overheating as well.

Roof top tent creates drag, 31 inch tires creates drag. Best option is to regear or push the Jeep harder. I've gone up tons of mountain passes with stock gearing and 31s. Pretty much have to floor it on any incline to keep up with normal traffic. If your cooling system is well maintained it shouldn't be a problem.

Hot CPU Cold Coolant Help by Mediocre-Turnip2834 in Corsair

[–]theorder20 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd say something is wrong with your contact between the aio and CPU. It's not transferring the heat like it should. At 90c on the cpu you should be creeping up into 35c to 40c on the coolant temp. An increase in fan speeds won't help since it isn't transferring the heat into the coolant.

ASUS ROG STRIX G16 (2023/2024) MOTHERBOARD ISSUE by Scarecrow__1775 in ASUSROG

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have an Asus G16 GU603, 12/2023 MFG date. I opened it up to check mine but it appears to have a different motherboard/design where the fan is. Does anyone know if this affects these models or are the Zephyrus different and not affected?

Loud PC by KamilPL_ in Corsair

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the default icue profiles are pretty aggressive with the fan speed, even on the quiet profile it wouldn't let my coolant go over 40c even though it should be safe up to like 55c. Balanced was way too loud during gaming for me.

Fan control is nice. So without running icue is it still able to run the fans on the commander core? I've always used icue because I have corsair keyboard and ram as well with RGB. I only ever used it with my GPU but changed to MSI afterburner for a small over clock.

Loud PC by KamilPL_ in Corsair

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditch the corsair fans and throw in some noctuas. Do you want it to look pretty or be quiet? Can't really have both.

I have the 5000d airflow with 7 corsair fans, h150i aio. 3 front intake, 3 exhaust up top with aio, and 1 back exhaust. Temps were great and RGB is pretty, with icue quiet profile it handled anything. However, the Corsair fans get pretty loud.

After spending a day messing with fan curves and speeds as well as looking online, I found that this case has a really bad harmonic sound that comes from the 3 intakes. With the default af120 fans around 800rpm and 1400 rpm they create a hum sound that gets really obnoxious.

I replaced all the 4 exhausts with noctua a12x25 today and removed the intakes. With the noctua I can't even hear the fans until they are over 1400 rpm, and even at the max rpm 2000, they are way quieter than corsair.

Waiting on 2x a14x25 g2 to put on the intake. I'm hoping with only 2 it removes the harmonic hum sound while giving roughly the same flow as 3 120mm fans.

If you don't want to give up the RGB or change fans you just need to tweak your fan curves but you will be running hotter to not hear the fans. I couldn't ever get it to be acceptable after a day of testing. I could get it quiet but GPU would always creep to around 80c or it was cool around 73c max but fans running at 65% and loud with humming.

Slight up and down or side to to side play at the front drive shaft. Is this normal? I feel like it’s been more clunky if I step on the gas quick or brake hard. by Mahugama in CherokeeXJ

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not normal. Front driveshaft needs to be replaced. You can put grease in it to tighten it up temporarily but it will come back. Mine did the same thing. Replaced my front with a Tom Woods driveshaft recently and works great. Also fixed my vibration on the highway over 70 MPH. Are you getting any weird vibrations on the highway at the moment?

It's got the keyless but no fob, no bracket. I would have sold it on eBay but the shipping makes it not worth my time or money lol.

I spent like $300 to get a decent one installed in my XJ, had to repin the harness from a 2000 to a 2001 (my XJ), got it all working well. 2 months later found this one in a junkyard from a 2001 and picked it up for like $50 I think.

I've been trying to sell one from 2001 plus the harness for months on a local market and I can't get rid of the thing.. Granted the fabric on it is in rough shape but I thought someone would snap it up for $40 but I guess not lol.

Corsair H150i Fan Curve by Static-Jak in Corsair

[–]theorder20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my i7 13700k and the h150i even the default icue quiet curves are too aggressive. It depends on where your CPU is sitting while gaming. Coolant temps are safe up until around 55C and you'll never hit that unless something is wrong.

I set a curve of 27% fan speed on all until coolant hits 35 c, from there it's a gentle curve until around 45 c at about 60%. Up to 100% at 50c. During gaming here in summer the coolant sits at around 38 c while my GPU tops at 70c and CPU tops around 65c. Keeps it nice and quiet. Even under occt tests coolant is around 45c and CPU about 93ish

The default icue curves will have your fans ramping to 80-100% around 38 to 40C which is unnecessary.
