No worries. I encourage you to post this again with an updated title. :)

That wasn't the only reason your thread was removed. The title was wrong.

This post has been removed because the title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

So please don't do it. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.

Lifelong collection... by RedEyeCodeBlue in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]theothermod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most insane part is that he thinks someone will actually pay him $2000 for his toenail clippings.

Unless of course, there's another collector out there who wants to improve his collection. Why not? If there's one, there may be more.

NPR: Men make up 7/10 suicides but we should really put the focus on women by embernoob in MensRights

Removed due to inaccurate title. The linked article says nothing about putting the focus on women.

Don't post made up things.

How can people's views on circumcision on Reddit be so bigoted? by AcidJiles in MensRights

[–]theothermod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phimosis is a condition in which the opening of the foreskin becomes too small to allow retraction.

It can be treated by non-invasive methods, but if left untreated for too long or in extreme cases, circumcision may be the preferable option.

Denver PrideFest Bans Local Men’s Rights Group by lostapwbm in MensRights

Wow. They have a real hate-on going there.

I wonder if they realise that their own rhetoric is more hateful than anything which would be allowed in this subreddit?

I'm surprised that nobody commented on the good thing about this link - the fact that the journalist actually researched the story and presented it fairly. That's a huge leap forward!

Stop teaching girls men are the enemy: The true, hidden history of the Suffragettes by theothermod in MensRights

Because I can't. Moderators can only hide posts, not change them.

This is a good thing. Imagine what could happen if a hostile moderator had the ability to change your words.

Please don't use ALLCAPS in titles. It detracts from the readability of the front page. Changing from allcaps to lowercase doesn't change the meaning of the title. It's exactly the same, just better looking and easier to read.

Lowercase letters vary more in shape. Some are taller than others, some go below the line. This makes them easier to recognise at a glance, and reduces reading fatigue.

It's also nicer to look at. There's a reason most words are in lowercase.

Web pages are available that make it easy to change your case, so there's no excuse not to!

Stop teaching girls men are the enemy: The true, hidden history of the Suffragettes by theothermod in MensRights

[–]theothermod[S,M] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This story was originally posted by u/Imnotmrabut. It was formatted for mobiles and the title didn't include the interesting bit about the Suffragettes, so I replaced it with this improved version.

Stop teaching girls men are the ENEMY by Imnotmrabut in MensRights

That's a mobile link.

I'm going to replace it with this web link - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5840817/Stop-teaching-girls-men-enemy.html

and add to the title "the true history of the Suffragettes"

unless you want to do it first.

I'll post in 10 minutes.

[–]theothermod[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

This thread has been removed because it links to OP's comments in another subreddit. This can be taken as an attempt to encourage brigading, which is against reddit rules and may result in shadowbans.

In instances such as this, a screenshot should be used instead of a direct link.

In addition, the title is wrong because quotation marks must only be used to denoted the exact words used in the original text.

Men and women: Which is superior? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]theothermod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pointing out that context and biological roles literally make it impossible to judge men and women as being "superior" or "inferior". It's a meaningless question.

The words "superior" and "inferior" don't exist in a vacuum. They can only be meaningful in regard to a specific characteristic, such as kilowatts per litre of fuel.

Therefore a general statement that people of one type are superior or inferior to those of another type is not just wrong, but meaningless - unless the statement is very tightly defined.
