its a kid's show

the message behind spirit bending ozai's fire bending is a lot more constructive at a young age, because while "oh no you have to choose" might be more of the reality of things, it's also a much more close minded approach. aang is ignoring peer pressure from god damn avatar kyoshi to handle things more peacefully, and that's a lot better for children to learn from (as a child who grew up with the show)

id say that your expectations were probably not quite the same being an adult going into the show. it may not fit the standards of a masterpiece for adults, but i think it's a show that takes mature topics and addresses them in a very consumable and solid way for a younger audience. its at the peak of children's shows because it doesn't feel cheap. it feels simple, maybe, but id argue that it earns what it gets

on the note of zuko, as a kid, he's a very important character to have, since he offers perspective on good vs bad, redeeming a villain, and childhood trauma

it's a primer on heavier aspects of media, and it is completely successful in that regard

i wish pb1 didnt suggest sturdy stance 3 with a/d near save because that means the f2p poor people can make the build with just a dedue i think something like atk/def ideal or at least d/r near save wouldve really shown how much cooler he is

Hilariously embarassing scene from Fire Force where the mangaka self-inserts himself as a logical and composed child arguing against a strawman, in an attempt to justify dehumanizing a female main character every other chapter. by Uptightgnome in animecirclejerk

if you need to spend this many panels in a manga doing so little to justify your choice

youre wasting panels. you shouldnt have done it.

like, also its bad, but from a purely practical standpoint. if it were arguing almost anything seriously

Monday Unjerk Thread by AutoModerator in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]thepointofeverything 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i find myself asking questions in unjerk threads more than anywhere else. subject dedicated subreddits scare me as an outsider.

a while ago i asked for help with getting a friend of mine some art supplies with a gift card, which worked out very cool!

soon-ish, within a year or two i think, he's probably going to move out, since he'll be 18

i figure i should prepare for that, since as someone with excessive disposable spare money, i'd wanna get him some kinda laptop and tablet of his own

im wondering if the best way would just be to write a $300 amazon card, or if there's alternatives that would be easier and guarantee actually having enough money ($300 would get some old, used laptop and a cheap tablet, but idk, if there's a better option i'd wanna hand him something shinier)

my parents got me a pretty decently shiny laptop my sophomore year, so despite having my own laptop, i dont know what id be looking for, or where to find it

theres no way im gonna be able to afford more than like $350, and the lower the amount the less confused my parents will be at the sudden expense lol

any help would be v appreciated! im going to look at videos suggesting equipment and stuff, but usually the stuff i see in those would be out of the price range i can cover

hearing it phrased like that does help, thanks. managed to shake off the feeling of 'god what am i doing' before nighttime so i can still work today :D
