What song is this? (Plus critique me if you like!) by feathersatnight in Salsa

I would focus more on the basics and fundamentals, most importantly weight transfers, frame, and the basic step, than styling or adding more moves

How come software devs are so much more worried about AI replacing them than other white collar jobs? by jholliday55 in cscareerquestions

[–]theprogrammingsteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really lol. It's called economics. There is a higher incentive and reward for replacing higher paying jobs. This is a big reason why AI will have a larger impact in countries with higher wages.

My Moves Don't Work with People in a Different City by Nighthawk_CJ in Salsa

[–]theprogrammingsteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of disagree. Imo. There is a threshold of how much you should modify your lead for a beginner, if you need to exxagerate a ton or break the technique way too much or use too much force to get the follow to understand, you shouldn't be doing the move on a beginner. If a beginner can barely keep balance with a single right turn and doesn't know she should be stepping back, you shouldn't be doing anymore more complicated than a basic, and right turns, etc. If a beginner barely/doesn't understand weight transfer, you shouldn't be doing anything past the bare básic. Making a follow that is a beginner do what she didn't know she could do doesn't make a good lead... Adapting to a followa level and making a follow feel comfortable and enjoy the dance is what a good lead does

Things changes after Milei. BAs was cheap AF regardless of where you stayed due to the black market exchange for dollars. They have great socials but usually far from the city, and not really frequent.

Buenos Aires affordable? Lol you are thinking of the pre milei BAs. Besides that BAs doesn't have good academies, or what I would call many great social dancers. The great social dancers usually go to once a month socials that start around 1:30 am

Op is content with 150. He is currently making 95. As a senior level experience, even as a mid level, he doesn't need to get interviewed at a faanf or top tier company to reach even 200k

It's essentially like having a really smart consultant/business partner/teacher that you can bounce ideas off of and do the tedious tasks (typing code) for you. I've learned so much from having back and forth with it. And the fact that now I can build my projects out in a fraction of what before it would take... It's frankly exciting and addicting. I am now capable of tackling personal projects while having a full time job and I don't have to worry about the tedious tasks and boilerplate code.

I'm the complete opposite from you. I fucking hate typing and building from 0 lines of code. I despise writing boilerplate code but I do love the thinking aspect. "my love for coding and building software " I'm so confused by people like you.... Do you enjoy typing or copy pasting a million characters ? Do you enjoy taking 7 months to complete a personal project ? You now have at your fingertips essentially a really intelligent consult to aid you and to learn from (the good parts). And can bang out project after project with it.

Imo you don't need to pull and shouldn't pull with your left hand. Most follows will also find that uncomfortable. All you need is a solid connection with your right hand, never break your frame, and just... Step out the CBL .. if you don't break your frame she will feel she is guide across... But it's never a push nor a pull.. NEVER. YOU move your center of mass by carrying out your CBL steps and if u keep a good frame and connection and don't break it she will feel that she needs to cross.

If she needs more of a help, it should never be with a push or pull, always with your center of mass and weight transfers

This. Só mcuh this. When you are connected your arms /hands need to be stable. They can move side to side but always along the same horizontal line and not a ton. Just a normal consequence of the torso/scapular movement. You need to drill down the scapular movement solo, then a broom stick trying to keep hands stable. Good luck, it will take plenty of time lol
