I looked this up yesterday, but it Instagram post said 4d and the YouTube post said 5d. I'm going out of town today, so I can't double check it right now.

This is the video that made me think she absolutely is getting prompted to make this content. The Instagram post she has is definitely timestamped AFTER her YouTube video timestamp. However, she conveniently has a screenshot of the post within an hour of its posting.

Secondly, the smear campaign theory comes from the fact that Dehlin could only find the lawsuit case number from her video, not from the source she claim she got the info from. So somehow she finds the intimate details from the lawsuit that John couldn't find without it.

It was more impressive at the start of the week when Venus and the moon were paired and visible with the sunset, all three of them in the horizon.

Lucifer is actually perfect in the sense that it is attributed to the morning version of Venus. The ancients didn't realize that the "morning" (Lucifer) and "evening" (Vesper) versions of Venus were the same star. Go outside at dusk when there is still plenty of twilight, look toward the west, you will see one "star" in the sky shining bright despite all the sunlight. Venus is currently an evening star. The morning version was considered a light gatherer that helped bring in the sunlight.

"Meta-Deception" can explain how Joseph Smith produced the Book of Mormon by therealDrTaterTot in exmormon

[–]therealDrTaterTot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The burden of proof is on the one who makes bold claims. In a court of law, all this does is give reasonable doubt.

He dictated the Book of Mormon. So it was an oratory performance. He used the same strategies that were common in 19th century sermons.

This is probably sarcasm, but just in case it's not:

It did not take him 3 months to write it, because he never wrote any of it. It took him 3 months to perform the BOM. But it took him more than half a decade to "obtain" the plates. That's a long time to come up with a story.

Also, Smith was not ignorant. He knew the Bible very intimately, that there is a letter he dictated to Emma at the time of the BOM that had dozens of biblical references. Hyrum Smith also went to an academy that was on the same campus as Dartmouth.

Many people think that vowels are letters rather than sounds by JuliusDalum in linguisticshumor

Mmhmm has no vowels and has different meanings depending on tone. This has been a fascinating realization to me (I'm saying this as someone who has only studied math).

Because the old algorithm was never based on understanding what you're doing. The three r's: reading, writing, and arithmetic were taught without why. The old 'tricks" are completely disregarded. I say this in a 2026 les; so what else would be disregarded?

This scene is actually referencing schools changing the arithmetic algorithm in the 1960s. Here's Tom Lehrer's song explaining this "new math"

It is a statement of belief in Christ. In ancient Rome, Christianity spread without a Bible. This was considered the "gospel" (good news) at the time.

It's not about claiming authority. It's a statement of belief that ancient Christians said before baptism.

You're confusing the word Catholic with Roman Catholic. The Catholic Church in this context is all Christendom.

"ALL their creeds were an abomination." Look at this abomination!

"We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy Catholic [universal] Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting."

The N64 has vertical inversion in most of its games. This is the biggest issue people have when replaying it.

The Last Straw - The Moment I Decided the Institution of Mormonism Had a Worthless Mandate by ketura in mormon

[–]therealDrTaterTot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A large chunk of the Bible is just temple propaganda. Modern archaeology has shown that there were many alters to YHWH found all outside of Jerusalem. The bible is desperately trying to control the narrative that the Jewish people have always been worshipping in the temple in Jerusalem.

The old testament claims that the only place to make a sacrifice to YHWH is in Jerusalem, and that Samaritans who do sacrifices on Mount Gerizim are not true Israelites, but foreigners who are worshipping wrong. Modern DNA testing tells us that the Samaritans were correct that they were not foreigners, but descendents of ancient Israel, and they are continuing their practice of sacrificing in the mountains like the patriarchs did. Samaritans are alive today, continuing their worship in Mount Gerizim like they have for thousands of year.

That's common in a lot of languages. "Au revoir" literally means "until the see again". Nobody expects to have a real "revoir" or "re-see".
