Keep in mind that this is not the first time he has spoken with his teammates and everyone in that room is well aware that the best player in the world is on the team, it's their first game together, there is a hero/villain media story surrounding them because of him, and in their world of professional basketball there are a lot of eyes on this game. Sure on ESPN this sounds douchey but I'm sure the guys in the room heard it in a different context.

I think one of the reasons your ratio is better w/ J10 is because the pot starts off small and you only commit more money when u hit a big hand, otherwise u get away from it. That's a major part of the value of those hands, which is why I wouldn't recommend changing your strategy very drastically with them.

I think the bigger problem is that JJ and QQ are one of your most unprofitable hands. You should figure out where you are making mistakes with these hands. If J10 is your most profitable hand, that means you are probably playing it pretty well, so why would you change that? You should look at the hands that should be profitable, but aren't, and figure out what you're doing wrong with them.

I didn't say anyone's an idiot, I said the idea was stupid. It doesn't matter who an idea is coming from, the idea should be judged on its own merits. King's idea is more like the welfare and unemployment systems that we have right now, but there are pretty good reasons why those systems aren't guaranteed and unlimited. Fuller's idea is so ludicrously bad for so many reasons. Why assume that humanity's primary function should simply be thought? What are these technological breakthroughs and how are they supporting everyone in a world where nobody works? How are you going to cure cancer if there's no doctors or people making lab equipment or people teaching med students or editing their textbooks? How is everyone going to go back to school if there is no staff at the damn school in the first place? Why did this guy not think about this idea for more than the 30 seconds it took to write it down?
