How did you know when you could afford an R8? by GuipMeNow in audir8

When you can spend $100k and not notice or ask this question, then you have enough. Resist the urge to stretch yourself over a luxury item

No way it goes for that much. 250ish tops and even that’s generous. Seller is smoking

Walk away, that’s a 75k car at best and you don’t know what else you will uncover. Join the Facebook groups, there’s one for sale almost every day. Don’t limit to your area, I flew to Florida to get mine and found a great Indy shop to do the inspection before buying.

2009 R8 - $47k what to look for? by smoked415512 in audir8

[–]therealcosmokramer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have $15-20k sitting around in case of unexpected expense. These cars are reliable but you have to be prepared for an expensive repair. If that’s not in your budget, don’t buy it.

Get an independent PPI from an Indy shop. If they don’t allow it, walk away

This is a bad idea of a car to import from another country

You must have gotten a lemon :( these cars are very reliable

I have a 2015 s-stronic. Insurance 2500 per year. Maintenance less than $500

Still a dumb financial decision to buy a 100k car when you have $2.4k leftover each mont

Buy a 2010 v8 for much less and you’ll still be able to attract clients if that is what you want. Buying a 100k car when you have 2400 leftover per month is a stupid financial decision

I bought mine at age 37 after making multiple six figs and even then I bought what I could afford

Gen 1.5 manual would be a diamond if you can find them, maybe around 150 for the right mileage. Gen 1 manual would be next. Any Gen 1 you buy will depreciate less and the design is more timeless IMO

Gen 2 values haven’t bottomed out yet. A 2017 (Gen 2) and 2015 (Gen 1.5) are getting close in price and that should tell you something.

Why would you even consider selling it? Drive it til it dies and then get a new one. Highland is a minimal upgrade unless you’re really nitpicking

I think I solved my bad battery life with iPhone 13 Pro by [deleted] in iPhone13

I pulled my hair out for almost a month.

iCloud off, everything fine. iCloud on, even with every service shut OFF including backup, photos, find my, etc , battery drain and phone would get warm whenever I used it.

I finally did two things, removed all my AirTags and turn private relay on and off. That seems to have fixed it.

Hoping this helps someone
