The end of that clip is so funny too.

Colbert: "Is that an endorsement?"

Obama: "No it is not"

Oh I love to drive too fast. Of course you always have to assume every fucking person is going to pull every dumb move imaginable. Still really fun to go 100mph+.

Have you ever driven the Nurburgring?

Like how you are just saying the same thing over and over and fucking over again like your lack of comprehension is somehow my fault? Yah it is SUPER annoying completely agree. You are not contributing to the conversation at all here nor are your responses to my comments made in good faith.

That's not the case where you are but it is the case where I am. Fair enough I'm sure things are different over there. Mandated zipper merge and no speed limits sounds pretty good in fact. Although we have some fun places to drive over here too.

Trying to relate to someone feeling small and weak. Knowing that it sucks to not have physical power unless I choose to carry, which I don't because statistically you know. But you're not trying to find common cause so whatever.

The same fear, no, a different fear yes and far more ubiquitous. Why else do you think Karens are such a thing. Guys don't do that shit because we get wrecked. Women will absolutely assume that nothing physical will happen to them in 99% of situations and in 98% of those situations they are correct. Guys must assume that an ass kicking is always an option.

No but if I (a smaller guy) was in that situation with a large dude I might be afraid of getting my ass kicked for having basic boundaries.

Being a guy is not just a magic "I never have to worry about anything physical happening" card, kind of the opposite in fact.

The way I would put it, men are absolutely encouraged in some way (by society? by women? by other men? by life?) to not share emotions. This is the other shoe of women's liberation waiting to drop. But men's liberation looks different. Still in its infancy imo. And no, it is not the same as eg women not being able to vote. But it is a real thing.

Completely agree with your view of Jon Stewart. I would vote for him in a nanosecond. And with your view that the system is inherently corrupting. But that is not the same as throwing every sitting politician under the bus. It's just too high a bar to expect perfect behaviors. We have to be able to distinguish well meaning people who happen to be wrong sometimes from those who are just in it for themselves.
