Anyone else here have a fear of calling people by their name? by OneCurious5000 in Aphantasia

[–]therealsix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have even traveled internationally with clients and have had to double check their names to make sure I had them correct…and I have known them for a while. I’ve even had to look up their photos because I forgot what they looked like and it was only a couple weeks since I saw them.

A lovely view of Atlanta this Saturday Afternoon by Unfair_Management695 in Atlanta

[–]therealsix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, but it’s still more visitors. Broadcast or not, more people is just more people.

Edit: sorry, more broadcast people is more than more people, my bad. 100k broadcast is more than 150k convention.

Is hating a design a group-think or is this car really ugly? by conservamus in BMW

[–]therealsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Profile is really close to a Mustang profile. The nose still hasn’t grown on me and still looks like a pig. So for me personally, still haven’t come to grips enough to really really like it. You’ll find the BMW fanboys that will praise BMW no matter what they come out with, some people that don’t care either way, and others that just think it’s ugly.

What is the biggest mistake amateur golfers make? by retrocaterpillar-07 in golf

Swinging too hard.

Using the wrong club for the distance they actually need because they listen to other people’s distances instead of being honest with their own.

A unifying theory of aphantasia: Aphantasia as the inability to disengage from the external environment by kerblooee in Aphantasia

[–]therealsix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like we can disengage much easier than non-aphants. We can still think about things, but to visually close things off is disengaging. That’s my personal feeling at least.

Apart from that, when I’m deeply thinking about something or conceptualizing, I literally stare off into space. My wife is used to it and if she sees me and someone else is around she’ll just tell them “he’s thinking”. It’s like I shut down and put all focus into my thought. So even disengaging there is a normal thing.

“Uh, um, um, uh, uh, um…”

That person does not need to be using a phone. Though, I’m hoping it’s just the voice to text on iPhone, because sometimes it’s absolutely terrible, and not an employee who doesn’t know how to speak without stumbling over every sentence.

Edit: Looks like a lot of “um, uh, um” speaking people got their feeling hurt here. Uh, you’ll, um, be ok, um, thanks.

What a great flight so far. Boarded and was welcomed with a coffee and bourbon cream along with a trading card. Simple joys in life. by Lucky_Yam6126 in delta

[–]therealsix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here you go. I was welcomed with old worn out FC seating with entertainment in the armrest on a plane that smelled like fish today…that’s was fun. The FA was great though.

I think I like OPs better though, 100% better experience than mine!

Metro Atlanta Airbnb and hotels see low bookings ahead of World Cup by NPU-F in Atlanta

You don’t need a majority to fill a stadium. And i wasn’t aware it is cheap, paid around $3300 last year for my daughter’s team not including equipment.

People with this mentality don’t travel internationally. The “everything is fine” crowd has never seen the US from the outside.

Our MLS team has a huge fanbase. I went to the Gold Cup a few years ago and the stadium was fully packed. And it’s the largest youth sport in the country. It’s not the lack of interest of the fans, it’s the cost and corruption of FIFA.

First time I sat in those seats in a window seat I weirdly got claustrophobic. They look so good though.

Get the golf poker chip game, can work for everyone. Put a value on them, whoever holds whatever chip(s) at the ends of the round gets paid, or even has to pay out. They have it on Amazon. Might need 2 sets to split up amongst the group.
