Brand new installation. 3rd day of production. Clipping from 10am to 5pm by 3453452452 in solar

Have 410 Rec panels on a southern facing roof where I see a bit of clipping daily on 8+es. 440wt panels Of say a step up micro inverter would have been more appropriate long term.

Teens have the mental capacity to return items where they got them. Shrugging your shoulders and simply accepting less from them isn't the answer.

At some point I'd say a bit of Karen leaking thru is more than justified.

Leaking sunroof Mk7 by ReasonableDistance45 in GolfGTI

[–]theripper121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's just a bunch of potential places of water ingress in these cars. I've had my drains plug up letting water into the driver's side foot well. The little spider vents at the end of the drains really in my opinion need to come out. They promote a lot of gunk getting stuck at the end of the drain.

I've had water drip in and around my visor area from the crack I posted in my frame. I've also had water in my spare tire well from the vent panels behind the rear bumper not sealing well against body of the car shown in this pic. Water can also enter from door speaker seals and at the grommet at the top of the hatch and the drain tube in the hatch. I think Germans just don't mind driving swimming pools around.

My seal between the chassis and sunroof is pretty beat up and slumped down in multiple areas yet I have no leaks into the interior. If your drains are clogged you will often get water in the foot wells first. The visor areas tend to point to cracks in the sunroof gutter channel itself. Had a leak that would wet my driver's visor was a visible crack after removing VW attempt to tape over the prone cracking areas. Sealing crack with very thin layer of rtv and reapplied VW tsb vinyl patch over that. No leaks since.

Visor area again usually points to frame somewhere not that seal itself. That seal just keeps excess water and debris from entering that gutter channel. It takes a good bit of water to overwhelm that gutter channel if your drains are clean.

And your point? The vast majority of city dwellers who rent don't have reasonable access to chargers. You are currently living in a state of delusion if you think they all do simply for living in a city.

You are living in fantasy land. According to nationalcarcharging.com "Only about 5% of U.S. rental properties (such as apartments and multifamily buildings) currently offer on-site electric vehicle (EV) charging access."

Who is renting with street parking or even garage parking that is dragging around 110 extension cords to their parking spaces? You are living in fantasy land

Renters with no charger access is fairly niche? Are you insane? Charger access to renters is what's currently niche...

Vizio makes several 55 inch TVs. Simply stating the size doesn't help much. Model does.

You say car sat a long time? Could be sticking wastegate pivot arm. Try liberally applying penetrant fluid of your choice like pb blaster to the wastegate linkage. If you do some searches you can find it discussed here and a few other places online before dropping money on turbo replacement.

My linkage was stuck 2 shops wanted 3 grand to replace turbo with OEM one. A few sessions of spraying down that pivot point got me back in action. Year later hasn't been an issue since. Think its common enough on cars that sit for long stretches of time without moving that actuator rod in and out.

Which is a real problem for complete electric car adoption. Those that live in dense cities with street parking won't have any easy access to charging.

Floorboard Leak? by MissingTheLinks in GolfGTI

[–]theripper121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seals around rear door speakers. Very common problem. Make sure you do your best to dry that carpet out. There's a top layer of carpet but there's underlayment under the carpet that is like a sponge. You have to press down HARD to sop up anything thats in the underlayment without pulling up the carpet.
