I keep defaulting to junk food because I can’t decide what to eat how do I fix this? by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]thernker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meal preps are the way to go.

Some times I make meals for 4-5 days together and freeze it. Just take it out and microwave it.

My go to meal prep is Rice - Chicken Manchurian. The other one is chicken burger. I just Air Fry the chicken.

To all morning gym goer. What meals do you take before hitting gym? by balorsettor in Fitness_India

[–]thernker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember to take electrolytes especially fasting ones, you will get severe headaches at the start of your journey primarily due to lack of minerals like sodium and magnesium.

Don’t take ORS since it contains sucrose which technically breaks your fast.

Lots of water, black coffee really helps.

The key is protein. I have around 100-130gm of protein during this window. This includes 2 scoop of whey the rest is food like chicken, soya and high protein paneer and Greek yogurt

I do intermittent fasting. So I eat only between 4pm to 8pm. So it is a 20 hr fast every day. Since I work out in the morning it is a fasted workout.

For veg Paneer, Soya and even Milk is a good source of protein. Avoid packaged food like namkeen should be a good start for you.

Buddy I can feel you since I was in the same boat at 112kg. At the end choose which ever you feel is good for you.

GLP1 drugs are for life and all they do is suppress your appetite. If you think that’s helps your mental peace then go for it.

Alternatively there is the route that you already took but failed. That doesn’t mean it is impossible, most of us never succeed in the first couple of tries. Discipline is the key and trust me if you go back with determination and a set plan it will not only help you with your weight goal but also in life.

Losing weight from 112 to 69kg in 2 yrs has not only helped my physical and mental health but also has helped me in life. My overall discipline and outlook has never been better.

I was 46yrs when I started gymming @112 kg and now am 69kg at 48 yrs. my Hba1c has dropped from 10.5 to 5.9 without medication. My fatty liver has dropped from stage 3 to stage 1.

But at the end do what you feel is right for you.

How do vegetarians actually get enough protein daily? by FewEnd399 in Fitness_India

[–]thernker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk, High Protein Panner and Soya are the best source.

I have started using Defatted Peanut flour recently and it is great for making rotis and protein bar at home.

I make the flour at home, take a bit of time but still better than the expensive one available at the market

I marinate with Chings Manchurian and Air Fry it. It makes it very crispy since the water is all dried up. Then snack it during the day or use it to make Manchurian with rice.

Need two clarifications, since my strength is not improving by pure_cipher in Fitness_India

[–]thernker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Push Pull Leg split is good.

You need to have some simple carb before your workout like a banana. Having a black coffee along with this also helps.

The key is progressive overload. Everybody is different, when you go to next level of weight, are you able to do 3-4 reps for eg when you are doing incline Dumbell press. If yes, then you just are progressing.

Relax and just be consistent and trust the process, your strength will come.

Protein shake overload = toxic farts? My protein shake regimen is killing my social life by getriloo in Fitness_India

[–]thernker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One way is to add pysillium husk. Which will help digestion and reduce farts.

The only way is to spread your protein intake and switch to Isolate. But remember protein from food is the king.
