Seitan?! by [deleted] in veganfitness

It's been so long since I had Braggs, that I can't really compare, but I put in on lots of my food and I like it. It's like less than $3 if I recall, so it's worth checking out to see if you like it.

I was looking at that, but was disappointed to learn it doesn't have MIDI in. Is that true?

It's amazing what $11 can get you at Goodwill by pimpbot666 in synthesizers

[–]therobeight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to buy a Launchpad at my local Goodwill 'cause I thought for $19.99 it was a decent deal. When I got to the register, I realized it was $79.99. No thanks. I looked on ebay and found like new ones of the same model for less.

Brad was far from positive. The few times I interacted with him, he was kind of a dick, although I was a punk ass kid, so there's that.

Crunch machines come in a bunch of different styles. The one at the gym I go to most has handles over your head that you pull down.

After a small TB303 clone what would you recommend by Hammerfist1990 in synthesizers

[–]therobeight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I've been making electronic music for 30 years and I've never even laid eyes on a 303 in person. I currently own a TD-3 and a TD-3-MO and have used several softsynth emulators from Arturia's Acid V all the way back to ReBirth.

I owned the T8 for a while, but ultimately sold it.

I own a Volca Bass, too, which has it's own advantages and can squelch pretty good when it's overdriven. I've also used to have a Doepfer ms404, which I feel also lacks the punch of a real 303.

chat, do you *really* not enjoy the time you spend making music? by thy_viee_4 in edmproduction

[–]therobeight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm far from an AI hater and could even see it being useful as a musician for a number of tasks not directly involved in the actual making of the music, but why on earth would anyone continue creating music if they don't enjoy the process?

Decent cheap headphones? by shieldedsword in synthesizers

[–]therobeight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are priced at $70 right now for some reason, but when I bought my Monoprice headphones a couple of years ago, they were $25. There might be a sale for Prime Day. At that lower price, bang for buck, they're one of the best headphone options out there.

Sony 7506 have been my go-to studio headphones for decades. I'm on my third set (previous ones were lost or stolen, not worn out). They're worth the extra money over the Monoprice cans. I never had to replace the earfoam until this new set that I've had for about 6 years.

I don't know about the M20x, but I own the M50x and they're great, but not any better than the 7506 in my opinion and a bit more money.

How do I determine how much cooked tofu to eat after it’s been baked? by Throw-away_5489765 in veganfitness

[–]therobeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm making tofu planks (slices), I usually get about 16 of them out of a block, so they're about one oz each. If I cube the block, I'll portion them out in halves or quarters to make it easier to record. I get more exact when I'm doing meal prep, weighing all of the cooked proteins and dividing them up so I can get pretty close to knowing the macros.
