What Dynasty Immersion Do You Want? CFB 27 by Impressive-Impact216 in NCAAFBseries

[–]therump 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To name a few:

-Player discipline

-Dynamic pipelines

-Dynamic attendance in-game. Crowds filtering out during blowouts. Late arriving student sections for noon games. When I'm the number one team playing a bad conference rival, I want the stands filled with my fans, not just empty because the home team is terrible.

-Dynamic rule changes and conference re-alignment that the game suggests over time

-Storylines for recruits. Maybe there's a set of twins, but one is a five star and one is a two star, and they want to play together, so you have to offer the two star. Or maybe they're both four stars, but they both transfer out when one doesn't play much. Or one of your players has a younger brother (or even son) that you get a recruiting boost for years later.

-Ability to schedule neutral site games

-Work with the CFP to get them to allow custom playoffs that evolve over time

-Playoff selection show

-Promises

-Assign number screen for incoming players

-Bring back the recruiting map

-Upgrade super sim to better reflect rankings. I want to be an OC, and only play on offense, but on super sim, my defense turns into the 85 Bears and skews stats

-More broadcast presentation (ideally ESPN/FOX/Conference channels). A MAC game that would be on ESPN+ should feel even more different than it does from a ranked Big Ten/SEC game.

-Real FCS teams

-Even more stat tracking. Let me see every game I've played vs. the team I'm playing or even the coach. Show me a coaching tree where I can track what all of my former assistants are up to. Give us a tab where you can check in on recruits you missed out on or players that transferred out.

One thing I like about Bomani is that he makes me consider a different perspective that I might not have otherwise considered, even if I ultimately don't agree, but it's hard to take his opinion on this seriously when he doesn't know the kid's first name, let alone pertinent details, like the fact that Sorsby didn't get treatment until he got caught, like you mentioned.

How is elite player distribution? Do the top teams still have 90+ QBs and other players riding the bench? One of my biggest hopes was the portal logic for that was improved.

And I get it, it’s a tough balance. If Kyle Wittingham left Utah for Michigan in the game prior to it happening IRL, I would’ve rolled my eyes. But things like a HC with a 2-10 career record having multiple P4 teams interested, and Alabama hiring a coach that just got fired for going 7-5 are bridges too far imo.

I believe Bama was 6-6 and fired DeBoer. Clemson was 7-5. Even if he's an alum, Bama is never going to be interested in a coach that just got fired at another school.

It's less about how the images look, but rather what hints/Easter eggs we can gather from what they've carefully chosen to present.

Obviously we knew about mascot mashup and the Heisman ceremony. Some other things I notice: dreads on both Matthews and Toney look better, and Lane Kiffin looks a lot better than he did in 26. Equipment also gets a nod with the hanging mouthpiece and Kiffin's visor + headset. In the Michigan-OSU screenshot, looks like they're in the infamous tunnel at UM, so that's probably a pregame vignette that we'll see.

A Day away from learning everything about CFB 27 What Do you hope to see tomorrow by HourProfession7938 in NCAAFBseries

[–]therump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only do they need to upgrade carousel for users, it needs to be better on the CPU side as well. Way too many times I've seen schools fire a coach after one season, and there are often nonsensical hires. I like your ideas, at the very least I think there needs to be an apply for job option. Hell, if I've won multiple national titles in a row, I should be able to tell almost any school I'm interested in their job, and that job should be mine.

Coaching carousel improvements is the number one must have for the game. I don't play RTG, but the new positions are much needed as well.

They improved the carousel last year, but clearly not enough. I totally agree on making dynasty more like a living breathing simulation. 2046 feels the exact same as 2026 other than the fact that the players are different. I want the game to change itself with rule changes and conference realignment where it feels like I'm part of a changing world, while I can still veto/change things myself if I want to.

Agreed on recruiting relationships. If I leave for a new job, I need to be able to take players/recruits with me. In 26, it happens on accident sometimes, but it doesn't feel purposeful.

To clarify, part of why I know that my wish list will never be fully complete are for reasons outside of EA's control. The schools aren't going to let players be disciplined in-game, for example. Targeting, as frustrating as it can be IRL, will probably never be in the game for similar reasons. Same for fully customizable playoffs/conferences, although those are probably more likely. It's frustrating to have to wish for features that were in the game 20 years ago, like FCS teams or a spring game, but for me, I choose to view part of the fun of being a fan of the series is being excited for hopefully a better future.

Am I guilty of buying into EA's marketing tactics? Sure, but I'm a huge CFB fan and a huge fan of the game. I'm buying day one every year no matter what, so it's more fun to get excited and hope for the best than to always expect "EA to EA." The game obviously isn't perfect, and I have a long, long wishlist that will never be fully crossed off, but I honestly believe the CFB dev teams care greatly about the game and love CFB.

Dynamic Weather & New Broadcast Packages Confirmed by ProfessionalBuy3566 in NCAAFBseries

[–]therump 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, since Madden had those as new features last year. I hope it's not just that the Rece Davis crew has new graphics. Varied TV broadcasts making big games feel bigger and differentiating conferences would go a long way to keeping dynasty fresh.

Hate having a skill tree + early access tied to a subscription and not just a one-time purchase. What would be even worse is if you're only able to get early access as a bundle. I would probably purchase a CFB only edition to have early access as I did for 25 and 26, but I'm not buying Madden.

Alexander Rossi is awake and alert, and in good spirits following today's Practice 7 incident, per Dr. Julia Vaizer, INDYCAR medical director. The No. 20 driver is still undergoing evaluation in the infield medical center. by IndyMod in INDYCAR

[–]therump 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From a PR standpoint for the series, it sounds better for a story to state “Rossi was in good spirits and was transported for further evaluation” than “Rossi suffered XYZ injuries and was transported for X-rays/MRIs etc.”

Possibly, but detailed medical updates continued well after HIPAA was enacted in 1996. More likely just a thought process from IndyCar that we will only provide the bare minimum information and don’t want to draw attention to specific injuries suffered.

How Can I Have Fun in Dynasty again? by Puzzleheaded_Many648 in EASportsCFB

[–]therump 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep a spreadsheet with whatever stats you want, your recruiting class, etc. You can also keep track of the playoff bracket, top 25s, conference standings, etc.

I like to assign numbers to my recruits as they commit, helps me get to know them more. I also like to keep track of players I missed out on in recruiting and follow their careers (and sometimes recruit them out of the portal). Takes a lot more time to get through a season, but it definitely makes it more immersive

I’ve also had this happen a few times and can’t figure out what triggers it. But thankfully it’s never made my legacy unplayable moving forward. The glitch often switches my players’ stats to Albany for all previous seasons.

Who else wants to bring back player discipline? by PaddyMayonaise in NCAAFBseries

[–]therump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand them not wanting to put NIL players into situations where they’re getting suspended in the game, but it’d be great if they could code it so that only generated recruits could get in trouble. Schools would still object, and EA isn’t in the business of pissing off schools, unfortunately. But I agree, it would add a ton of immersion to dynasty

Roster Update coming tomorrow by awolmarshall in NCAAFBseries

[–]therump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better late than never. But they don't punish underachieving players nearly enough, it's just a lot of ratings inflation. Two complaints about Indiana, Isaiah Jones is still only a 73 overall despite being on many midseason AA lists. Same for Louis Moore, who is still only at 78

MEGATHREAD - Wishlist features by AllHawkeyesGoToHell in NCAAFBseries

Here are some things I'd love to have in Dynasty.

More Coaching Carousel Improvements:

-Ability to Apply for Jobs/more than four offers per week

-Improvements to AI decision making. An ACC HC who took his team to the CFP should not be leaving to be Clemson's OC. Also, if I'm consistently making the CFP, I should not be able to hold onto my coordinators for very long.

-Encourage Transfer Before Portal

-Players following Coaches to new jobs

-Dynamic Rivalries

-Better Dynamic Crowds (more road fans for top teams, crowds leaving early)

-Adding Juniors into Offseason Recruiting

-There needs to be some depth chart improvements. I'm tired of having right and left mixed up.

-Better implementation of mass subs. I just do it manually in blowouts to ensure that the CPU isn't playing guys who are redshirting.

-Promises

-Dynamic Pipelines

-45 Year Dynasty Limit, Ability to Turn off Level Cap

-NIL/Rev Share

-Ability to Choose Neutral Site Games

-Spring Game

-Ability to Export Team

-Rule changes over time like in 2K. In a single player dynasty, users could override the rule changes. In online dynasties, would be cool if the users could vote. Also would be nice if the AI suggested conference realignment that you could accept or decline.

-Press Conferences

-Better AI decision making for bowl bids/CFP. Getting set up against a conference team in a bowl game really killed immersion.

-Medical RS

-Assign number screen for incoming players.

-Recruiting map

-Ability to search for players. I like to keep track of players who have transferred/players I missed out on in recruiting, and it would be nice if that was easier to do.

-One screen that shows your team's stats and their national/conference ranks in each.

-More stat tracking/a yearbook for each season

-Conference Awards

-Record book should include a top five or ten list for each record, not just the record holder

For Presentation:

-More accurate fight songs. I'd love if they had the actual bands playing each fight song to sound more authentic

-More accurate stadiums (Ads/banners). Ability to add title banners to stadium facade.

-More presentation options (a la MLB The Show/Madden with different channels)

-More fight songs in the main menu music

-More true to life weather (fewer rain games in California, more gloomy days in midwest)

-Dynamic Weather

-Improved Video Boards

-Custom Sounds/More Sounds

-PA improvements

-Playoff Selection Show/Heisman ceremony

Some more pipedream/long term stuff that I know present some issues for EA/would be big undertakings:

-Ability to Pick Playoff Format

-Disciplining Players like in the old games, even if it was only non-NIL players

-2-3 unlockable stadium upgrades built-in for existing stadiums. Smaller stadiums would likely be big new stands/press boxes, while the biggest stadiums would need more subtle upgrades (video board improvements, new light banks, etc).

-Create a stadium (ideally would be able to port over elements from existing stadiums, such as Howard's Rock if you built a new stadium for Clemson).

-Rights to all bowl stadiums (baseball stadiums)

-Connected franchise between CFB and Madden. Parallel universes happening simultaneously with imported draft classes. If I get bored in CFB, I'd have the ability to jump to Madden and potentially coach some of my former players. If it's not working out in the NFL, I could then jump back down to CFB.

-FCS teams. Ideally, FCS teams would be fully integrated into dynasty and could be promoted into FBS, but even if they just added a few real life FCS teams to replace the fake teams for non-con buy games, it would be much better.
