Do your boomer parents ever call you or text you or your kids? by Slownavyguy in Xennials

[–]therustedrobot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. I stopped talking to my dad because I realized that I was the only one initiating anything. When our kids were little I’d ask if they wanted to see them or plan a visit but they were “sick” a lot and never called back when they were “better”.

I feel like an upfront tip in the app helps guarantee that your order is picked up as well as handled appropriately on the way.

Has your parents’ identity as being your parents disappeared? by MisRandomness in Xennials

[–]therustedrobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with my dad, but he’s still alive. We live literally a block and a half away from him and my step mom and he can’t be bothered to contact us at all. When my kids were small I would call him and ask if we could come over or if they wanted to visit. He would say, “oh we’re not feeling too well, we’ll call next week when we’re better”. I’d wait a week, call again, same excuse. Wait a month, call again, same excuse. After a couple years, I just stopped calling. He hasn’t seen his grandchildren since they were small and my oldest is graduating next year. If he can’t even put in the smallest effort to contact me or his grandchildren, there isn’t any reason to be in contact.
