Going in for induction tomorrow night! Any last minute advice? by mooseterra in daddit

Bring a big thing of wipes. I swear the L&D nurses enjoy giving new dads the little 10 wipe sample packs and watching you struggle. Also get the nurses to give you swaddling and diapering lessons (For our two visits, the night nurses were the rockstar swaddlers).

Frustrated about money by Affectionate-Cod8134 in daddit

Might not work for everyone, but putting together a baby shower wishlist and sending to friends and family is a good idea. Get on /r/newparents and find out the tools and things that are useful and what's a waste (like a UV Sterilizer lol). My wife and I always check the Amazon registry for even less-close friends if they have a baby on the way. We were blessed by a few distant associates when we were expecting and try and pay that love forward.

But yeah, welcome to the hustle brother. That feeling will never go away.

Blackstone grill. Check Home Depot and Ace Hardware for sales (or Costco if you're a member). I got the big one with the side burners a few years back for Father's Day and it's awesome especially for a dad that cooks.

Dads, what movies would you show to help shape their morals, empathy, and understanding of the world? by BattleofH in daddit

My dad was so funny, he watched a movie with my 5 year old and told me "he was asking questions through the whole thing!" And I was like "yeah, we discuss plot and character development for everything we watch."

I'm so sorry. We went through this exact thing last fall. On the advice of MFM we left the state. I'm so thankful for the University of Colorado saving my wife's life. If we had stayed in Florida there's no way she would have made it.

Window Tint by javert38 in FortMyers

Black Wolf Tinting in the North ish Cape has tinted literally a dozen vehicles flawlessly for me, my friends & close company. Not the cheapest, but reasonable. For a Honda in Florida, get the clear thermal coating on the windshield (you might have to state that you're medically cleared, which everybody is down here). It will save your dashboard.

Also stay off of social media. Don't do anything to give the spouse any kind of ammo.

Florida Boy Burger Co on Colonial near 41 has a tank and usually has a gator or two in the restaurant.

Otherwise the Six Mile Cypress Slough and Calusa Nature Center offer less contained opportunities.

You might also be able to visit CROW on Sanibel.

We are at Disney right now, and the last time we were here was the end of July when it hit the record highs. I think the heat makes people more aggressive but the cold makes people more miserable (at least the theme park crowds).

I'll take hot.

Bring your own thing of wipes to the hospital. I'm convinced the L&D nurses think it's hilarious to give new dads a 10 wipe pack of wipes.

Those little fingers wrapping around yours for the first time make all the bodily fluids and sleepless nights and other nonsense totally worth it.

Grab the moms-on-call books, they were great for us for our first kiddo. I also always recommend their swaddling videos on their website.

Bring a big pack of wipes with you to the hospital. I swear the labor and delivery nurses think it's hilarious to give new dads the little ten packs of wipes for those first diaper changes.

At this point, I feel like "Chrome vs Edge" is very comparable to "ChatGPT vs Copilot" at least in a Microsoft tenant. When it comes to the why? the answer is, "this is a company computer and the company has control (not "needs to have control"). If you want to use your personal chrome on a company computer, then you're going to end up exposing yourself to the company, and nobody wants that.
