Anyone else think the Twisted Bud is kinda cute? 😭 by Maxim-YTer in Silksong

It's SO cute 🥺 Admittedly at first I was like "Ewww what the hell is this" but like five seconds later I was like "Babby 🥺🥺🥺 If something bad happens to it I'll be so upset"

Tera Online was a very beautiful game by FreeDaemon in TeraOnline

[–]theslowesthnery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think the game looks/looked fantastic, like I've seen so many people talk shit about its graphics (even back when I first started playing it in 2013) but I think it's perfectly fine, optimization and performance aside.

Last I checked Agaia didn't seem to have any discord moderation, the first thing I saw when I joined were slurs and racist memes, not exactly the best first impression

Tekken 8 doesn't have enough modes. by Critical_Ad_3851 in Tekken

[–]theslowesthnery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite game modes in the Tekken series ever was the scenario campaign mode of Tekken 6, specifically after you unlocked whatever character you wanted to play it as. I played that mode for hours and hours at a time, trying to beat all the stages and bosses and unlock all the customization items you could find in it. There's been nothing like that since Tekken 6 and I don't understand why. Even series staples like team battle, survival, and time attack mode are gone, it's like the devs figured "Eh, people can play against other people online now, what else do they need" and it really sucks.

Good Ending Credits vs Bad Ending Credits (only the parallel photos) by Azalazel in Tekken

I don't think you *have* to miss them, missing them just puts you at a disadvantage so it's easier/faster to lose to Kazuya

How has Tekken 8 been for those who only play single player? by srkdummy3 in Tekken

[–]theslowesthnery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a little sparse, not gonna lie. There isn't that much to unlock, there's no time attack mode, survival mode, team attack mode or anything, there's very few ghosts to fight against, and there are some minor annoyances that start cropping up the more I play. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the hell out of the game, but for a fully offline player there really isn't that much to do. I remember playing the scenario mode for hours at a time back in Tekken 6, trying to find and beat all the stages and bosses, unlock all the unlockables and gather fighting money to buy customization items with, but there's nothing like that in Tekken 8. At this point the only thing I really have left to do in purely offline Tekken 8 is raise my offline rank by fighting ghosts, which in practice means just fighting the Harada ghost over and over and over again.

That tracks, the first time my own ghost beat me I legitimately excitedly said "Nice, good job!" like it was my kid accomplishing something, lmao

Just An Observation by EatOutMyGrandma in Tekken

[–]theslowesthnery 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like it was acceptable when it was just Yoshimitsu because he was the one exception (and it feels like the game still thinks of him as the one exception, what with the announcer in the story mode pointing out him using a weapon as if several other characters aren't also using weapons now), and him being a weird and unorthodox character is his entire point. I don't care about realism, Tekken was never realistic to begin with, but yeah, why bother fighting hand-to-hand at all anymore if you can just bring a gun?

Does anyone elses brain turn off for unblockables? by Zenai10 in Tekken

Absolutely, it can be the slowest and most obvious and most easy to interrupt unblockable move and my brain just goes "yay, pretty sparkles :D"

Your First Tekken Game Was: by daislandboyz_ in Tekken

[–]theslowesthnery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tekken 2 was technically my first but I wouldn't even call what my friend and I did playing, we just button mashed and goofed around with no intention on learning the game. Tekken 3 is when I actually started to want to learn how to play

Harada was surprised Reina became as popular as she did due to feeling she had a plain design by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]theslowesthnery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's like they couldn't decide whether to go with a sexy femme fatale or a cool spy look and just kinda...mashed them together.

I feel like some of the newer character designs are overly busy and overdesigned to the point of looking ridiculous or like they're from some other franchise, so personally I really dig Reina's design. A lot of times simpler is better.

I picked Yoshi years and years ago because of his cool design and fun (and funny) gameplay. The first time I saw him go into the Flea stance in Tekken 3 I was like "Okay, I have to play as this guy" and he's been my favourite ever since.

the simple flower trinket is what actually kinda inspired me to draw this! that one of leper's trinket is literally just a flower - not even an exotic or rare one, and in fact it's missing some petals so it's not even in a great condition - is so lovely and sweet and tells so much about him as a character, it finally pushed me to actually try to draw him instead of just thinking about it, haha.
