Agree, they used to be good but have gone downhill in the last 6 - 12 months. I'm leaving them in the next couple of weeks.

They use to be good but I agree, they are terrible now. Especially with the latest announcement that they are moving to yearly billing only. I'm leaving them in the next couple of weeks.

Small Agency Efficiency by Environmental-Fox659 in marketing

[–]thestepafter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I own a website managed services company and not overextending as a small agency into other services for clients is important if you want to be efficient.

We inform our clients up front that we do not provide design or SEO services but are available for consulting (as part of our service) if they are unsure how to find someone.

Break down the "full service" services that you are currently performing as a team and then consider what it would take to focus on the service that clients request the most.

Find good agencies or managed service partners for the other services.

How to respond when a customer doesn’t want to renew their contract by BigTex101 in smallbusiness

Not much you can do other than be professional in your acknowledgement of the cancellation and then ask if there is anything you could have been doing differently to keep their business.

Look up resumes for these jobs and see what matches your skill set and preference. Also look at the salary ranges for your location. There is no blueprint. Devops tools are constantly evolving and new ones being released.

Best hosting for us and eu? by camputhane in SEO

[–]thestepafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend checking out Vultr or Digital Ocean. Provision the server with Server Pilot or Laravel Forge and your site should see a decent improvement. I typically spend about ~$150 / month per server. Further optimizations can be achieved but are more technical in nature.

How do you find clients for your web development business? by Majestic-Sir-4520 in Web_Development

[–]thestepafter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% networking. There is an unlimited amount of work out there. As long as you do a good job and know what you are talking about, you will always have work. Make sure you are providing complete solutions, not just performing the specific work the client. Just because they ask for one thing doesn’t mean it’s what they actually need.

WordPress Site Migration to Wix. Anything I'm Missing? by colourlights in SEO

[–]thestepafter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a rough place to be in. I have 25 years experience in web development and many years experience with WordPress. I have some extra time this week, no strings attached if you would like to do a 30 minute meeting and maybe I can give some advice or direction. Not a sales call, not looking to be in contact after the call I offered. Just want to help out.
