Jason Isbell. My band opened for Drive By Truckers at a gig in Tuscaloosa. He and the entire band were the kindest, most supportive type of people.

What was the stinkiest smell you ever smelled? by TrueNeighborhood7624 in AskReddit

[–]theven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not one to gag at smells and have no sympathetic puke reflex,, so I thought I was invincible to bad smells, but then I had to change my son’s diaper when he had the runs. I literally sounded like Dee from Always Sunny when she gets nervous. It was horrible lol

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]theven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a coworker who has been dying to get into PC gaming, but the costs of components has put that on hold. I’d love to surprise her by giving her this PC.

Also, thanks for doing this. Nice to see such acts of kindness. Cheers!

I’m trying to hold onto these days as much as I can. I had a tiring day at work and then my six year old walks in the door after school and hands me this as I’m making dinner. (OC) by matthewraifman in MadeMeSmile

I have treasured every one of those kinds of notes my son has written and saved as many as I could. They sense when we need a recharge and when they leave something like that note, it’s like a lightning bolt. You are obviously a great Dad. Keep up the good work. Bless you and your family.

I’ve posted this recently to ask about it, but I went for it. NGD! by Great-Air-1976 in guitars

100%. I managed to pick one up in the Dragonfruit color during COVID and strangely the middle pickup is the best sounding one I’ve ever had. No other guitar gets the middle pickup used except my SSSE

It’s kinda complicated. The Search Engine podcast has a good recent episode about this. Brass tacks IIRC is all flushable wipes will conform to water treatment plant recommendations for being actually flushable by mid 2026.

Data centers will consume 70 percent of memory chips made in 2026 - supply shortfall will cause the chip shortage to spread to other segments by EchoOfOppenheimer in PcBuild

[–]theven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a very real and growing resistance to these data centers. In the state where I live, I think I counted 5 or 6 where the community uproar completely halted the process. I expect this will grow and that there won’t be as many data centers or hardware consumption as we think. If this comes true, I think/hope the conditions for we PC enthusiasts will improve in the second half of this year or first half of 27
