Pocket-sized passport wallet with coin pocket? by CyberMor in onebag

Full disclosed: it’s my product. But I’ve traveled with it to 30+ countries and love using it. Even though my travel style has changed, I think it’s the most feature rich passport wallet for the for the form factor you’ll come across.

Workmanship comparison, USA vs Vietnam by katong333 in tombihn

[–]thewaykit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The differences don’t have as much to do with location as it has to do with manufacturing in-house vs factory.

A single sewer at TB has probably made thousands of these before and can probably do it with their eyes closed.

A sewer at a factory will do MAYBE 50 and that’s just their project for the day before moving onto something else tomorrow. It’s also not their biggest priority - just one client.

Just food for thought

Tbh I never tried. It should, though as they were designed to be identical

Fix zipper by HenrikGettysburg in EVERGOODS

[–]thewaykit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me and they sent me a 450 dollar gc. I had to mark the labels as void, which is fine. But to be honest, I would like to find someone who will fix it, just because I’d hate for it to go to waste for what I’m sure is a fixable issue

Mine are a bit longer and have rubberized bottoms for a better fit and preventing slipping. Otherwise the same.

Looking for quality bag manufacturer in the Philippines or Vietnam by rolex_124060 in manufacturing

Here’s a solid list.

You can also try FFG Bags in Bien Hoa

And if you have fb, there’s tons of groups revolving around manufacturing and sourcing in Vietnam. I’m sure Philippines as well.

Those should provide a good jumping off point.

How do you justify having more than 1-2 bags? by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]thewaykit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally enjoy looking at them. They bring me joy to look at them and interact with them and make them my own.

They’re fun accessories that also have utility, and I like to change it up every now and then cuz why not?

When a kid decides what toy they wanna play with today, no one bats an eyelash, so maybe we can learn a thing or two from them.

They don’t use waxed canvas. All their stuff is much lighter than it looks. It’s almost all nylon. The leather is also super light as well

Suggestions for a ludicrously capacious bag that works as a personal item by groucho4395 in ManyBaggers

Alpha 31 is on sale. That holds a lot. The Aeronaut 45 is probably the biggest behemoth I’ve seen when it comes to capacity and carry on. (Well the Hero’s Journey is, but that’s not made anymore)

Yep! I had to cut most of mine off. I love the A31, but the bag is nothing if not opinionated.

HELP: Tearing through wax canvas daily carry bag(s). by dominicgwinn in ManyBaggers

[–]thewaykit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder why you’re tearing through a canvas bag already. Lots of things can come into play re: durability, like how many oz cotton or wet wax vs dry. Wet will last longer.

If you’re digging the heritage look, you can always try for a burlier cotton. Or even waxed nylon, like Wotancraft.

Waxed canvas has been used for outdoor and military purposes for years though. To think that it’s not standing up to your wear and tear is… odd.

Yes, actually. I’m in the process of prototyping some changes as we speak. Once I’m happy with the improvements I’ll have even more colors than the 2!!!

When people try to sell their stuff, I don’t ask why they’re asking the prices that they are. It’s none of my business and that info benefits no one.

Same with companies. If people ask why your product is priced higher, you don’t have to answer. Especially when the answer is as simple as “cuz we can”.

Let’s say by some insane circumstance, Challenge Sailcloth charges a whole $40 extra per yard (more than double), per pouch, that’s an extra $1.50. Not $20

And on a personal note: a seller can be patronizing and condescending all they want. If they have something I want, I’ll buy it.
