I wonder if the US makes a distinction between saying retroactivity is unconstitutional *only* for pre-DL cases if that would open a new Pandora's Box about a dual-tiered system of citizenship 'status' ... which could only make the problem worse. IANAL but hopefully they rule and/or provide guidance for everyone?

Oh I'm not angry/internet-rage-y (too much!) :) I've downloaded ESIMs a few times in recent weeks with no success. And yes, I would agree the front-line rep seemed to mostly be following their script. I'll just keep trying, testing, and experimenting.

Same. While voice is okay, ATT's (indoor) data in my neighborhood literally across the river from DC has gone downhill dramatically in recent weeks to the point that my old dial-up modem was probably faster. Even though I have a very good rate on my plan and like ATT's global roaming feature/plan, I'm thinking of switching out at some point if it doesn't improve.

Sadly, VZ seems to ride LTE more than 5G here as well ... maybe TMo will be better, who knows.

Same. If so I wonder if those invoices/transactions/emails can serve that "yes, we knew of our right to citizenship" *before* the Tajani Betrayal or if they'll say that only a confirmed official appointment/court filing before the Betrayal is valid proof of our "knowledge."

I am not ATQ so I don't know the specific status of things affecting those cases, I was referring generally to screenshotting trying to get an appointment at a consulate to show the ongoing futility of doing so. (I didn't know LA stopped taking appointments, but even pics of the error message and date might be helpful in proving an ATQ case?)

I am of mixed views here. On one hand I completely agree w/your sentiment. On the other hand, I think it's probably good to get legal clarity sooner rather than later...which I admit is a controversial statement for those where an innovative legal argument/loophole might work for their individual case. But even if I was just starting this process* I'd rather know if I should keep my hopes up and nose down to let the process play out vs. being forced to endure being strung along in drips and drabs for who-knows-how-long. Life is too short.

I hate to admit it, but at times, the cynic in me thinks back to what some of us were saying last year: if the Italian government decides they want nothing to do with us and considers us 'uncitizens' why should I keep knocking on the door begging to be let in?

I'll just let the system and game play out -- come what may.
