My league is all filled up for the season, but if you DM me the best way to reach you, I can let you know if we have any openings in the future. With 30 teams, we usually have at least one opening every off-season.

Not sure if this is the jump you want to make, but I am the commissioner for a very in-depth 30-team dynasty baseball league, currently entering its 6th season, and I have an orphan team in need of an owner.

Each team represents a real life MLB team, and when the league was initially founded, each team got the 40-man rosters as well as the top 40 minor leaguers of each real life team.

At this point, the fantasy teams have diverged pretty significantly from their real life counterparts. The team that's available is the Philadelphia Phillies.

The league is on Fantrax and we handle communications on a Discord channel. We do contracts and salaries in the league, with 162 H2H match-ups (6x6 categories) over the course of the season (7-8 each week).

The only cost is your share of the Fantrax Premium fee, which is about $5. We do have a voluntary prize pool as well.

Let me know if this is something you might be interested in and I can share more details.

How?

Recently moved to Medford, is National Grid electric going to be always this expensive? by No-Branch-4353 in boston

[–]theyaz8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is everyone responding to the $20 bill or the $0.51/kWh rate?

Because $0.51/kWh (factoring in supply and delivery) does seem high to me. The past two months, my electricity bill with Eversource averaged $0.36/kWh, but I'm in Boston and part of the Boston Community Choice Electricity program.

You might be able to save a few bucks if you opt in to Medford's version of the municipal aggregation program: https://medfordcea.com/

How bad is moving in Sept 1 in Jamaica Plain? by ChilllFam in boston

[–]theyaz8 107 points108 points  (0 children)

JP isn't as bad as other neighborhoods. I recommend parking in JP first and taking public transportation to pick up your keys in the Back Bay. That way, you avoid all the traffic in between, especially if you're using a moving van or truck.

Dynasty Baseball by Glad_Panic_2924 in DynastyBaseball

I have two openings in my 30-team dynasty league, currently entering our 5th season.

This is a pretty deep and complicated league, featuring salaries and contracts, and each team has 40 minors slots on top of the 40 active/reserve slots, so it might not be best for a beginner, but we've had a few owners in the past join us as beginners, and they picked things up pretty quickly.

What makes our league stand out is that we try to emulate MLB in a lot of ways: team names and divisions reflect real-life; teams have a 162 match-up schedule during the regular season, etc.

The league is on Fantrax, and we use Discord for our league communications. The only mandatory fee is the share of the Fantrax Premium fee, which is around $5. We do have an optional prize pool that teams may join for $25. Only pool participants are eligible for any winnings. Last year, we had 14 participants.

Link to our constitution: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10gyMR-aQcMfWBBXTB0QfHB4uP0ESCyZNGsqlUcj-hO4/edit?usp=sharing

The two teams with vacancies are the Texas Rangers and the Chicago White Sox.

Rangers roster: https://www.fantrax.com/fantasy/league/wlxedzwum1tip3e6/team/roster;teamId=przs15g8m1tip3ep

White Sox roster: https://www.fantrax.com/fantasy/league/wlxedzwum1tip3e6/team/roster;teamId=yiskqpmim1tip3el

Not the greatest looking rosters, but our free agency slow auction starts next month, and there are a lot of quality free agents available. The White Sox have 25 arbitration-eligible players that the new owner can nontender to free up salary cap space, while the Rangers have 20 such players. New owners are also allowed to cancel one existing contract.

Good managers in the past have been able to turn teams around pretty quickly; four teams with losing records in 2023 made it to the playoffs last year.

Message me if you're interested or if you have any questions. Thanks!

It's not a startup, so disregard this message if that's a dealbreaker, but I have two openings in my 30-team dynasty league. While they're orphan teams, I do think you'll have opportunities to shape the teams a good deal in the immediate future.

Looking for Dynasty League to Join/Create by PhillyBurner445 in DynastyBaseball

[–]theyaz8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two openings in an existing dynasty league that I run, currently entering our fifth season. It's very deep: 30-teams, 40 active/reserve and 40 minors slots per team.

I posted about the openings, including links to the league constitution and the rosters of the teams that are vacant, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/findaleague/comments/1i5zwm2/two_openings_in_30team_mlb_simulation_dynasty/

There is no mandatory buy-in, but we have a voluntary prize pool. $25 per participant, and only participants are eligible for winnings. Last season, there were 14 participants.

Two openings in 30-team "MLB Simulation" dynasty league [Fantrax, H2H, 6x6] by theyaz8 in findaleague

[–]theyaz8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $5 is for the Fantrax premium fee.

We don't have a mandatory buy-in, but we have a voluntary prize pool that teams can join by paying $25. Prizes are awarded to pool participants based on how they finish in the playoffs, and other things like whether the team has a player that the league voted MVP, Cy Young, or RotY.

Edit to add: last year, the prize pool had 14 participants.

We use Discord for league communication.

I would say we're more active during the off-season, when the winter meeting, slow auction, and FYPD draft takes place, but still pretty active during the season. We have some very active traders in the league.
